Also make sure you didnt crack or break a motor mount or something, that's letting your pinion (clutchbell) move when ya crack the throttle, and chew the spur.. Just give everything in the driveline a good look-see to make sure nothing is moving upon full throttle.. Good luck!
Direct Drive means it's got a direct connection from the pinion/clutchbell to main spur gear.. No multi-geared, engineered transmission.. If ya notice some of the Traxxas trucks (and 1/5 Baja types) as well as others, have a bunch of idler gears and what not, in the transmission, to alter the...
That's a killer little truggy!! I wish 1/10 4wd "truggies" would catch on! (Or hell, even 4x4 "Buggies" for that matter) The sheer size of the 1/8 models makes it hard to find a track thats big enough to really let them race. But some little 1/10s would be a blast just about anywhere! Post up a...
Welcome to the forum!! :) I'll try and answer some of the questions, as best I can..
Going off the pic:
-Spur gear is ok if it's a "little" wobbly.. Looks like a "slipper" setup, and these sometimes arnt 100% true while spinning.
-Brake bar I'm not familiar with, sorry..
-Small chip in...
Heat it up past 150* says the hobby hoe with his "new" mini motor heater!! LOL.. I'm workin with an old ass, worn out, hair dry over here!! Cut me some slack! hehe.. :D
I had an after thought.. If ya do decide to go the JBWeld route, run the engine and have someone mix up your epoxy just before yer done running the engine, then smear it on there while the block is still hot! Try and force it down into that crack.. While it's still hot it may let it get down...
Yea, if it can't start you have to treat it like it's blown.. Tell him that (and that even if it did start, 4.5 gallons is getting into "new bearings" territory anyway) and as these guys said, offer him 125$.. If he wont take it, offer him 150$ and tell him that's all you can do.. It looks like a...
That does blow! Seems like any noise restrictions would be tied to "Time of day" anyway??? Or, have an "electric only" track? That would suck too, but at least youd have a track.. (then you could lobby for nitro/noise after it was built and open) But, like most things, politic$ screws it up.. :(...
I "think" there usually around 60 psi. (just what I read) I doubt air leaking to the exhaust is compression related, but I could be wrong. lol.. How's that for a wishy-washy opinion! :D
Looks like its cracked from the outside edge-in? Probably caused by a crash? If its not cracked to the sleeve, it'll probably last a while. I'd try some JB Weld, like Moto suggested, and see how long she lives! Good luck!
Yea, I understand the theory. I was just wonderin if this was some sort of fupa that went against it.. These are with brand new SH.18 motors.. Seems they've changed plugs or something in the engine to make them not run when new, with the stock needle settings.. Another guy was having the same...
I have 3 different engines, and the OWB seems to slip on all of em, no matter how often I clean it or rough up the starter shaft.. Only thing that helps is pre-warming the engine (and pull starter) with a hair dryer or heat gun, before starting the engine.. The heat makes the pull starter grab...
I have a question.. lol.. I did some searching tonight, for "during breakin-engine dies as soon as glow ignitor is removed" Well, my engines are probably to far into the breakin stage to find this out, but in 2 different articles I read, it said if this happens to lean your HSN (Yes, High Speed...
Dang, wish I'd found the one on Helidirect! That looks like the same (specs) as the one I thought was a great deal, at 30$.. I dont know what s/h is, but $18 is a sweet deal!!
Excellent info, thanks!! I'm also gonna drive mine from the start.. (Short back-n-forth's on the driveway) I'll lean it out a little more tomorrow. So far I've only done 2 cycles (appx. 1 tank/75cc)
Here's the best servo deals I've been able to find. The first one has great specs, but I'm not sure about the "O-ring" seal? (Thats what I got for my 1/8 truggy "steering" servo.. Very fast and powerful! It's been great so far!) If ya need it water resistant you can dip em in plasti-dip or run a...
