Dpending on how it goes with the track owner in East Aurora tonight, we may bash at his track the first day and the trails the second day. Personally, I enjoy the Union trails a lot, so if anything, thats where we will be, again Can someone say BIG AIR ????
I have been extremely hard pressed to find any bash friendly construction sites this year. This city just doesn't seem to be building anything this year except roads.
As for parking lot fun, if there is enough interest in on-road, I have one right down the street from my house and a HUGE one by the airport (where I work) that we can have at.
This park down the street from my home (on East and West) has a small are for off roading too, but nothing to write home about.
Well, I talked with the owner of the East Aurora Track and we can have it on Saturday anytime. I need to know if we are wanting the track or not. Also if you want him to have the power running for timed races or to just go and have a bash day. Here are some pics and for those of you who are coming to Buffalo, I need your input by the weekend. I personally would rather just go and have a fun bashing without timed races. He is not ROAR legal and he probably wont be either because of the strict rules.
For the Buffalo locals who want to go and check the track out, the location of the track is at Aurora Rails and Hobbies. 2268 Blakeley Road in East Aurora. You will drive out Route 16 from the Village of EA towards Holland and turn right on Blakeley Road and they are less than 1/8 of a mile on your right.
I still want to hit the BMX track for some mad air but it's so hard to race there because of the size of the jumps, you can't see around them and I'm 6' 2". I am just praying that we don't get anymore rain otherwise it's an early trip to Canada. LOL.
This rain has been an absolutely BUMMER this year. I can hardly count the days I have ran a single r.c. this season. Its frustrating to say the least.
Sorry I didnt get a hold of you today, but didnt even get home until about 9pm from work. This Friday is going to be just as bad for me and then I'm off to Pennsylvania for the weekend. Grrrrrrr.....
Anyhow, we can hammer this out tomorrow as to times etc.. I'm game.
I only live 1 1/2 miles from the track, so it's no big deal and I'm just glad I could help. PM me your work number and we can finish the details. And I must say, for me things are looking good for R/C bashing. I'm building my own track and I have this track a 1 1/2 miles away and my old high school is only a 1/2 mile away for flying my planes and a huge parking lot for on road use. I just need some good weather.
I guess Sunday will be for the onroad bash right? I am wondering about the schedule for Sunday. I allocated Friday through Sunday for this event, so I hope I can run with the onroad bashers with my .26 buggy!
We still need to do a cleanup at the BMX track. So let's keep that in mind.
Looks like today might be a good day for BMX cleanup.
Ill pack the garbage bags in the car this morning. I can leave work early today if need be as tomorrow we are doing a MAJOR server upgrade that will keep me late. Not to mention, its looking like rain tomorrow.
Work has been dicking around with my vacation so where I was supposed to be on vacation next week I might not be. I'll let you know as soon as I find out whether I can go or not.
The track is booked. I go on Monday to take care of any loose ends. Brian, the man who I spoke to today, was really down to earth and up for the task of hosting a group of elderly children hehehehe
I'm glad I could help out. I am wondering about the agenda for the ECB weekend. Where will we be on Friday, Saturday is a given and then what about Sunday. I allocated my weekend just for this so....... are we going to have an itinerary to stick by or just wing it?
Friday is a meet everyone, get tuned kind of day. I was thinking of going back up to Chestnut Ridge and not paying for the shelter this year. Being as it is on a Friday, during a work week and a non holiday weekend, nobody is there anyhow.
The shelter we had last year was huge and there was a BIG parking lot AND enough grass to go around.
Sunday we are definately finishing off at West Seneca trails. Its the BIG AIR day and when most will end up broken. Thus, probably the best day to do it so if parts are not available, nobody is knocked out for the weekend.
I would also like to have everyone over to the house for some BBQ and beers Friday night.
Saturday night we will go hit the falls and casino and clubs.
There is also a HUGE park on East and West that we could run at on Friday.
I'm up for suggestions on Friday (during the day) as the rest of it is pretty well finalized.
Friday Night - my place, beer and bbq
Saturday Day - Track in East Aurora
Saturday Night - Canada - Clubs, Casino, Dinner
Sunday Day - West Seneca Trails - Big Air Comp!
Sunday Night - Rush concert for me
