Looks pretty sweet so far Eddy. Did you decide on which packs to run? I recommended maxamps because they can offer you a legit warranty. I would also look at Turnigy for lower cost but if you get a bad pack you are SOL. I can only imagine the current demands of that motor.

I think the coolest thing about the Castle set-up is that it has a built in data logger. I am really looking forward to seeing some numbers.

I have the MaxAmps on the way. They are on back order :(
I need to call Castle today. No specs on the BEC that I can see. Wondering how many volts its putting into the RX. Dont know but I HOPE its adjustable from the software. With the larger servo I would like 6v.

Have you considered just using an external BEC?

Shouldn't be necessary to use an external BEC, it puts out 5A no word on what voltage though.

Hurry up FastEddy, I'm already going through withdrawal.

It is necessary if you want to keep the heat down in your ESC.

Ah that makes sense.

Man If I had the dime I would be in line for a 5B SS and this conversion kit in a heartbeat. Never been a fan of gas RC's, nitro or electric. Now it's all electric. :)

Talked to Castle yesterday. The BEC is adjustable from the castle link software so there is no need to use a secondary BEC to get a bit more voltage to the servo.

That is cool I wish all of their ESCs had the same function. That would be really handy for sure. Glad that worked out...so any bets on the speed you will get out of this thing yet?

This conversion is really going to sell big time. I was wondering why the scoops on the motor cooler were sideways, but now I can see why. Great build videos, as usual, Ed.

Why do I keep expecting the buggy to fall and crush Mr. Bill?

It's good to have help on these projects...

Pesky "engine". ;)

I was surprised to see you using hand tools. There was no way I'd have gotten my baja together with hand tools. Just too stinking hard on the joints. Then I saw you grab the cordless. Just curious, what brand cordless is that?

Anybody need a kidney?

I don't see any other way for me to own something like this is the near future.

Gotta love the porn lead in music.
