This is a continuation of the truck in this post: https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/overpowered-slash-4x4.137995/

I have since swapped out the HW 4274 for a HW 3656 4700KV, and am installing the Traxxas 9080X blue extreme heavy duty kit.

Parts comparison old to new.

Front caster and steering blocks. The inner bearing for the new steering block is bigger than where the inner bearing is on the old steering block. The outer bearing for both is the same side though.

Rear hubs look hella beefy!
This Slash looks like it's ready for a beating LOL careful of those rusty screw heads though

I already have a complete screw set on the way from Jenny's. I also need to replace all the diff bearings, as well as the driveshaft bearing, and finish a couple other minor things on it. It wasn't ready for this past winter, since this is my goto winter truck, but, it will definitely be ready for next winter.

Pretty crusty and musty, eh? At this point, I'd say just tear it completely down and spray everything off, don't even bother wiping. Will this be another basher?
All of mine are bashers. I gave up RC racing a long time ago to focus on 1:1 racing. For this one, my plan is, clean it up really good (simple green and a toothbrush), then replace the rod ends, hexes and axle pins (3 pins were broke), all the bearings, at the very least clean and oil the diffs (and find out why the center diff is locked), then add a HW WP-SC8 and 4200-4700KV motor to run it on 2S.

Sounds like a peppy little rig!
What did you race for 1:1?
