Try to secure the filter where it can't bounce around. Where mine is located, it never gets above room temperature. :D

What if you ran it around the engine? You could put some of the heat shields on the fuel line and secure the filter to the shock tower or roll cage.

I would definitely keep it, it's cheap insurance against engine damage. I don't know about you but I don't refuel in @Rolex's waxing room so there's always a chance for crap to get in my tank.

I would do that, but I shortened the fuel lines to help with mid tank lean and it worked. So I want to keep them as short as possible.

Rolex it is so weird to see a monster truck that clean. Seems impossible lol.

No problem, I can take ideas and criticism. Thats what forums are for.

Actually I see what it appears like in the photos. But actually it sits more right over top of the fuel tank lid so I dont think it is in danger of coming in contact with the cooling head. Actually I'm not sure it is even necessary and I might just remove it all together.

ah ok, i guess its just an awkward angle!

Well project savage is 99% complete. Should have the final components early next week. But its complete enough to share.

I got so fed up with the mid tank lean it was time to do a mid tank mod. I used the Fast Lane Machine kit. So I will start off with the parts list and links since it would have helped me so much if I could have found someone who had made a list since I did much of this from scratch. So here goes.

So you will obviously need some sort of pipe mount as well. Kit went together with just a few hitches. There are no instruction, I had to go off of some photos online and guess work. So if anyone wants to do this I would be more than happy to help with any questions you have. While I had it apart I put in the GPM all aluminum steering kit. It turned out really well. The TVPs are really high quality. I think the truck might actually be lighter now due to all the machining. The engine plate is heavily machined and super thick. Everything bolted right up. It comes with hex screws. You have to drill you own holes for the fuel tank you choose. I chose not to the do OFNA 250cc tank due to size. It doesn't really fit very well from the photos I've seen and 150cc is more than enough fuel and weight for me. Ill try to throw it on a scale today and see any changes dry with no tires.

Nice damn truck!!! I really like those FLM TVP's, I would like to put those on mine but I got a Revo that I prettied up with a bunch of aftermarket aluminum parts, it looks like crap now, about to replace it all back to stock parts. Where I live it is all rock and gravel and it really beats up and dings all those nice parts, my other Revo I left stock and it seems to handle the rock abuse better. The dings dents and scratches arnt nearly as noticeable. You gave me a lot of ideas on where to go with my build. Thanks!!
