I've read about the ofna hex conversion, if I run into problems I will do it. I'm not too sure I'll be running 6s probably just 4s, 6 seems like a little too much for me right now.
Joshman what exact parts do you need to do this.

The ofna conversion requires the XL stub axles which will give you and extra 1/2" width which is kind of a nice bonus and then a set of ofna 17mm hexes.

You will have to grind the XL axle spacers slightly to get the hexes to fit without binding but it is an easy mod and takes less than 20 minutes total. I have done two nitro savages and now two fluxes and all have held up perfect after many gallons and packs on 6s.

You can get the stub axles on ebay or if you want to lengthen your flux to XL length as well as widen it you can use the HPI wheelbase conversion kit. I really recommend doing the conversion as it makes the truck much more stable and it handles the power much better.

I got mine off ebay but that will give you an idea what you need.

Also when you break rear knuckles (not if but when) you can swap them from side to side and front to back to keep running. The entire knuckle doesn't break it just breaks where the toe-link connects and you can simply flip it around or swap it with another corner and keep running.

If you are even remotely hard on your trucks you will break these like crazy. Luckily the integy part is a good fix and it is cheap as well.

Other than those few things there really isnt anything to upgrade on the truck other than shimming the diffs which is also a must.

I never ran anything but 6s. I guess I replaced the gear before that happened but the wear was definitely there. As far as aluminum id rather just run rpm stuff. To each his own tho, use whatever is working for you

Rpm doesn't make rear knuckles for savages.

I wouldn't worry about the rear knuckels. I have never snapped one on any of the 3 savages I've owned.

I guess everyone has a different experience with them. I know on the flux I snapped them like crazy. The nitro savages did not break nearly as often and I still run stockers on one of my nitros.

Atleast you have the link now so when they do break or you just get tired of having a rear toe-link you can always upgrade for cheap.
