hey guys I'm going to be at this years BTC, will be my first rc event and sadly I'm goin solo dolo. just me and my rc's
stoked AF tho. really look forward to it, if anyone else if going to go or plans to go it would be cool to meet up and crawl for a bit or to just say hey.

Welcome to the Beat The Creek 2024 event page! We are proud to present the 9th Edition of this epic RC Trail event to be held May 3rd, 4th and 5th in Maysville, KY!
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING IN THIS DESCRIPTION.
If you have any questions please ask on the event page, the group page or ask Joe or Chris.
Cost (cash only & pay at the gate):
$40 per driver for the entire weekend.
Kids 12 and under Free.
Spectators are Free.
$20 for a primitive RV or tent camping spot for the entire weekend, you can arrive and setup as early as Friday May 3rd at 12 Noon and gates close for entry at 10pm (no reservations needed). Trails will be open at 1pm Friday. If you want to try and park with others you need to come in together. No holds. Hotels are also only a short 15-20 minute drive away from the farm (see official hotel information below.
Friday gate opens at 12pm closes at 10pm
Saturday gate opens at 8am close at 10pm
Sunday gate opens at 8am
Now to the fun stuff!
For those of you who have been to the Hauke farm consisting of 84 acres and MILES of trails … you know the epic fun that awaits you. For those who haven't been to this RC Trail event we recommend you get here and see it for yourself.
We have every type of terrain imaginable on the 9 trails and we would love to see you all the first weekend in May! Everyone is welcome! Schedule will be posted closer to event date.
This FAMILY friendly event is the most fun you can have with your tiny truck over 2+ days … guaranteed. So bring the whole clan!
Not only will you have to SURVIVE and BEAT the infamous Creek but can you BEAT THE BARN also??? It is always a big driver favorite during the weekend. Be ready for everything and anything!
Plenty of raffle prizes, donated by our wonderful and generous sponsors, will be given away throughout the weekend and the larger prizes on Sunday at 4pm. Note: You must be present to win.
Food provided by Fernleaf Volunteer Fire Department will be available for purchase on-site.
This a family friendly event so NO DRUGS, GUNS or ALCOHOL on the property.

We will have side events again this year including the 5th Annual BTC Shootout in the Rock Garden, a 1/24th scale course including a fun little comp, 1/14 scale Semi-Trucks and Construction equipment in the new building. There will be a charging station to charge batteries for everyone to use.
More information on all these side events and schedule will be coming over the next few months.
We will also have night runs again on Friday and Saturday night!
Many, many Vendors big and small will be on-site all weekend. As always you are welcome to bring any and all your RC items to sell or trade.

And yeah, it's best to let him decide. My son was into his RC from the time he was around 3 til about a year or so ago. He turns 12 in June. Now he doesn't have much interest. But I was the same way.

I'm dying over here trying to budget before i even show... i have one deal worked out tho i am buying an infraction 6s
for 475. but then i found out it doesn't have the optional speed gear so am trying to talk him down to 450.
so that kinda puts the kebash on getting an scx6.
sadness... but i will have about 600 left to pick up 2 good crawlers. either RTR's, or possible someones build.
now I'm looking for rubber tires for the infraction.

its discontinued item tho. why4? is it bad? did it break too easily? should i avoid this truck?
i just really think it looks wicked and wanna drift and slide around

The Infraction is a tire eater. Your future RC budget will be spent on tires if you use it much. Because of that, I have never had a desire to buy a Felony or Infraction.

i hear that and agree, but i found a set that ALLEGEDLY last thru around 18 packs, so I'm thinking id get around 10 for sure, is gonna be one i only play with on occasions lol but its SOOOO COOL

You can probably catch one on sale new for $550 or so. Have seen them for a little less actually if I remember correctly. Not sure I'd pay $450 for a used one unless I were able to see it in person.

I always wanted an Infraction, but never pulled the trigger on it, because my 6S Typhon fills the same roll.

as I'm watching videos of last years event my son Vegeta sides up next to me and start watching and asking whats that truck? and this truck, and then says dad can i still go with you? id rather do that than the jump house....
effing stoked!!
but now my selfish budget is getting rewqorked for the million and a half time.
since my boys gonna be therenow the NEW plan is to walk vendors row and watch how he looks at what stuff and things. then go back thru and get him a truck he personally likes. THEN I'm gonna give him 100 to upograde it himself and we can go to the booths and talk to people and such. but i think this way hes goiong to get to pick his truck, then upgrade it himself. instead of dad doping it all. i think it will make the ride more valuable to him this way.
hopefully i can still pick myself up a BIG toy and another crawler. again I'm kinda leaning towards a few rtr's if i can find a good bundle deal.
now tho my budget has to include actual food and stuff. i was just gonna eat chedder dogs and be done with it. food and water budget for myself was 20 bucks all weekend.
now gotta get actual camping family stuff but totally worth it. here we come smores! ( i dont eat artificial sweets and detest smores..... but we gonna smash em with me boy)

have tent, tarps, chairs, cooler, trucks, all my tools, firewood, fire ring, all loaded up ready. so excited.

I was kinda bummed out your boy wasn't going with you. Now I'm all excited

I always loved making corn on the cob over the fire. Take some mayo packets and some parmesan cheese

And instead of s'mores, wrap a crescent roll around a stick. Roll them in cinnamon and sugar then roast it.

@majin That's way cool dude! Your crawling course isn't going anywhere any time soon, so you have plenty of time for more rigs. Enjoy the event to the fullest, you guys will remember it always.
