I'm looking to get back into nitro rcs after about a year off. Right now I'm looking for either a 1/8 buggy or truggy that I'll use for bashing/messing around. I was just wondering if a buggy will be limited much compared to a truggy in terms of where it can drive and what kind of terrain it can handle due to its lower ground clearance? Any input on this is much appreciated!

ps- my price range is around $300, so i'm looking at the...

Thank you!

The ST-1 has a reputation for being one of the most durable truggies available.

i have the st1 and the picco also many others .if you want the most bang for your buck look on stormer they have a hotbodies lightning stadium pro rtr for 259.00 and the same in a non pro verzion for 212.00 the .26 engine beats the st1 in all ways the picco flat out cranks . as far as car to car comparison the stadium pro is it you can't beleive what comes on it its a freaking beast . i love all my cars but my st pro is by far a cut above the rest

If you read his post it was about buggies and truggies NOT stadium trucks. The Jammin is considered to be a good racing truggy.

Buggies believe it or not are NOT terrain limited. I've never had one but when you watch the vids and races, they are the quickest most durable rc's out there. Truggies have longer arms which is what makes them just slightly less durable that the buggies

1/8 buggies don't like normal height grass very much. They get poor grip and run hot. They are light enough that the grass almost lets them float, which loses traction.

If your going to be running on the lawn, I'd go with a truggy. A little taller at the center, a bit heavier as well adding traction.
