Laptop HD help

the hard drive in my girlfriends laptop took a dump. I need to get a new one for it but i dont know if laptop hard drives are universal like pc ones are for the most part? if they are does anyone have any suggestions for a website to buy from? thank you!

they are usualy universal.. the only thing you have to watch out for is the age of the machine and how big of a harddrive it can address.. if it is a newer one then your fine.. if not the shoot for as close to the same size as you can find.. but as far as the size there all the same.. (exept for some REALLY old ones.. but you prolly wont come accross any of those..)

yeah i love pricewatch. thats where i was looking. just wasn't sure as of the fitment. its a newer laptop. 1.8GHZ 256 was a 30gig HD... gonna pick up a 40 gig for it here in town and maybe some more ram too... thanx alot guys!
