scummer - i knew it was going, just a matter of time. A lil while back, i broke the the timing chain, which bent some valves and warped the head. That attributed to some of the leaking, but the engine also had about 209,000 miles on it, so the rings were worn, as were the pistons. it was time for it to die.

Valves bent? Head warped? Oh.. ok.. i'm actually surprised it was still running then.

:wasted:

yeah - i used to be a tech, so i fixed it well enough to get it to run, but wasn't gonna spend any money on it, as i knew it was on its last leg.

May the Saturn RIP.

BTW, glad you got an import. I heard VW are supposed to be really good cars....but my toyota will still own it on gas mileage.

yeah - the VR6 sucks gas - about 16city, and 24hwy

lol, 40mpg here...but best i've gotten is like 35, and that's not even trying.

NA cool...congrats on the car...I have...ok well just read my name... the 02 vr6...w/teh 200 horsies....that thing flies..not bad on gas mileage either I avg on the highway like 30-32 mpg..around the city (depending on how much I am play like 25 mpg.) love it though..I got the tiptronic tranny in mine too...the old lady didnt hook your car up like that pic did she? or am I having some kind of brain fart?

This has to be one of the most interesting threads I've read in a long time.. I can't wait till tomorrow!! what will happen in NA's action packed life tomorrow???? Damn.. I'll never fall asleep now!!

NA, sounds as if the saturn served its purpouse. Good luck with the VW, and dont go to fast and drive it off a cliff.
I know my Bronco II, has served me well, with a 169k miles still running strong, but if it decided to retire, I wouldnt care, I've put that truck through hell and back, I treated her good, and she's treated me good. Thats the key to keeping a car or truck in top condition, as you would know that of course. Oil changes and some lube does it all.....

16 city and 24 highway?!? Dang man!

My '88 Oldsmobile went on a 400 mile run, and we calculated it out to 37.2mpg at 60mph. And that was coming from a 3.8 v-6 with a bit over 230hp! It's a nice ride as well. Strong motor, and rides just like a caddy! :) Go Go Royale Brogham, I love the car and wouldn't trade it for much else. And it's amazing as well. I can beat my friends 3.8 mustang off the line every time! And my car is more of the "family" type car :).

My dad has a 2001 Ford Ranger standard everything. 2.5 inline 4 with a 5 speed. I told him about my gas milage and he just about died. Thank god for overdrive transmission :D

Anyways, nice looking car, and I wouldn't mind having one, looks alot better than my GF's pos escort :)

because the car is already a rocket, more power would be useless on the street, and lowing a car makes it look stupid, childish, ghetto, and destroys the suspension of the vehicle. Plus, it makes it ride like poop.

Sup dude. First of all.....nice ride...having owned and tuned that motor for many years I can say with much experience that it's my favorite VW motor by far. The new 1.8T is a great motor and great turnning platform but I definitley prefer the naturally aspirated or supercharged VR6.

Secondly.....I never thought I'd hear the when a guy named nitro addict would say that adding a turbo is "usless on the street" and "lowering a car makes it look stupid, childish and ghetto, and destorys the suspension of the vechile"......no disrespect dude but from years of car experience I can safely say LFMAO. As for more power it's anything but usless on the street and a matter of prefference....I definitely wouldn't call a stock VR6 even in a light car like yours a "rocket"...far from it. It's a fast naturally aspiriated motor but no rocket by any definition. Having lived in europe for many years I'd safely say to not get on any Autobahn with that VR6 GTI STOCK (DYno your car and then get back to me on the HP).

As for lowering.......no disrespect again but you obviously don't have much REAL WORLD experience with lowering vechiles and I find it hard to believe that anyone with any real mechanic and general car experience would make such blanketed remarks. You can talk about chaning drive angles and geometry etc but in most real world applications lowering a vechile doesn't significantly increase wear on the suspension and drive train in general (I speak from experience with cars with 300+K with a 1-3" drop). Again it's all a matter of preffernce but talk to mechanics with years of experience and 90+% of them will agree with me in that lowering a car is not a bad thing when done right/properly. Your cars general handling would definitely benifit from a 1.5" spring drop.

Their's nothing ghetto or childish about lowering a car (lowering yoru center of gravity)......I'm not talking about cutting your springs....that's ghetto...lol. I'm talking about a proper loweing job. Now, you will c a very significant increase in wear on trucks with a suspension lift as your drastically change the geometry of everything. Yes, lowering a car will make it ride harder more often then not but it wont ride like "crap"....lol...unless your use to cushy cadillac gradnma suspension...lol.

Enjoy your new ride as it's a sweet one.

BTW If you wanna c a real road rocket I'lll post some pics and dyno charts of my last RX-7........400 @ the wheels daily driven and 544hp@ the wheels for drag racing!!

Peace

I hope you are wrong about all this information NitroBoy.. NA happens to know everything about everything.. This revelation is very disturbing to me! I only hope your mistaken because I rely on NA for everything in my life... If NA is wrong about anything it will throw my entire life into chaos.. I mean how would I know how to feel about: Abortion, politics, lightning bolts, who's a spammer, who's not, 911, what celebs deaths to be sad about, speeding, oh ya.. and R/C???? :) I sure hope your wrong NitroBoy... :)

NA- you just got my dream car that car can be one of the most bad ass vehicles on the road. On kazaa there is a video of a golf gti with a audi tt quatro engine that burps 3 foot flames and boasts and incredible 900hp. nice car nice potential and looks just plane badass.

30% - when i refer to nitro, i refer to RC. Hence the name. As for modding a car, my personal opinion, is that 60 engineers who have a helluva lot more training than u or I decided how this car should perform, why should i change it? I never exceed the speed limit, even by 5 mph, so HP isnt that important to me. As for a rocket in acceleration? i just got rid of a 1.9L saturn, this IS a rocket to me.

Skipper - the reason your Olds got such great MPG IS because of the size of the engine, it doesn't really have to work that hard to make your car go.

Indyjohnny, if u got something to say, say it, otherwise shut the F**K up and go screw your momma. wanna get banned again?

LOL>... I had something to say and I said it... Just like you always do.. although I only say something once in awhile, not 15 or 20 times everyday of the week like yourself.. The reference to my momma seems a little harsh!!! why would you want me banned? because I dont like you? That just seems wrong.. Peace though!!
