This is the info on my esc and motor I'm wondering if I can use a 4s battery on it with out faying anything ??

Watts: 900W / Max voltage: <12V
Max Amps: 75A / KV(RPM/Volt): 4300KV
Max RPM: 50000 /Diameter: 36mm
Length: 50mm / Shaft length: 15mm
Shaft diameter: 3.175mm
Plug type: 4mm golden banana plug
ESC Specifications:
Continue current: 60A
Burst current: 320A
Battery: 2S Li-Po / 4S Ni-Mh Ni-Cd
BEC output: 5.5V / 3A
Power supply plugs: T plug male
Motor plugs: 4mm banana plug female
Dimension: 50 * 35 * 34mm / 2.0 * 1.4 * 1.3in (without cables

The description lists 2S/4S for LiPo as well as NiMH and NiCD. The way that they listed it is a bit strange, but I don't think that there should be any problems. When in doubt ask the manufacturer or dealer.

Strange that it says it can handle 4s, but the specs say max voltage is <12v. A fully charged 4s battery is 16.8v.

I wasn't paying attention to that part. I guess that limits it 3s (11.1v nominal)

Wouldn't this be the specs for the motor:
Watts: 900W / Max voltage: <12V
Max Amps: 75A / KV(RPM/Volt): 4300KV
Max RPM: 50000 /Diameter: 36mm
Length: 50mm / Shaft length: 15mm

Plug type: 4mm golden banana plug

And this the specs for the ESC:

Continue current: 60A
Burst current: 320A
Battery: 2S Li-Po / 4S Ni-Mh Ni-Cd
BEC output: 5.5V / 3A

Could they be talking 4 NiMh NiCd cells for the ESC?

lets see 6 volts v 8.4 v 16.8 hmm sure Chinese slop to English totally plausible. NOT

Listing on Amazon under Esc specs "Battery: 2S Li-Po / 4S Ni-Mh Ni-Cd". Listed the SAME as OP's.
Isn't that what is being discussed?

I don't know what the OP has. Hench, why I asked. I only said it had listed a spec the same.

no to 4 cell ..yes to 3 cell
And if being technical with the specifications the OP listed. A 3s LiPo would be over the (less than) <12volts. And a 3s LiPo also puts the 4300kv motor over the 50,000rpm limit.
It looks like the system (motor & Esc) the OP has would be listed as a 2s LiPo limit which it is indicated as such.

To answer the OP's question of "Can I use a 4s battery?" I would say no. It looks like the combo you have is rated for a 2s Lipo.

Dont see 3 cell listed anywhere except by you.

Thank you I'll try contacting them

Weezel "P.I." on the job. 😁 :thumbs-up:
I think OP forgot to include the "Motor Specs" in the cut/paste job.

The "S", in LiPo battery nomenclature practices, means "in a series"... two LiPo cells connected in a series is "2S". The "4S Ni-Mh Ni-Cd" thing is just weird, because we would (back in the day) just reference NiCd/NiMh packs as 6 cell, or 7 cell packs. A 60 amp speed control on 4S (LiPo battery) would be a no-go for me.

Yeah, the Chinese sellers on Amazon have no idea what a battery even is half the time. I love when they say it comes with a LiPo but it just has a Lion pack with it.

That is for 2s lipo only. 3s would smoke it. 4s would make some pretty colored smoke I believe.

I think your question was already answered but I read the whole thread and was more confused after I read it than before I started. In general, that's a pretty weak combo.

It's a 2s combo like I thought. Product description recommends 2s and anything more you risk burning out electronics.
Too many focus on the esc's input specs only. But need to look at the motor and esc as a combination to work together. The higher the voltage and rpm's the motor is made to go the more heat that is produced.

Can anyone recommended a good but not to expensive motor and esc combo please and thank you
