Awesome. I'm unsure what your plans are for this buggy...but I want to ensure you realize alum shoes (of which I am a huge fan) will not affect your top end at all. Said differently, if your buggy goes 55mph with nylon shoes...it will go 55mph with alum shoes. A few other quick things:
--Keep and eye on them...they wear probably 70% faster than nylon.
--I like to seat my alum shoes to the clutchbell when putting on a new set. It's similar to seating a new diff. Can't say I've noticed tangible difference in doing it vs not - but just an old habit. ;-)
--I would not recommend using nylon in that new bell after running alum, as there will be a residue that is hard to get off (i.e. not worth the trouble) and you'll have serious slippage with nylon. I have alum bells and nylon bells.
Would love to see pics of yours. I'm 95% complete with my rebuild. The REAL fun begins with setup testing. I think I can get more throw if I turn the servo save out of parallel to the servo. Take off your links...move the ackerman side to side and tell me what you see. Not good, eh?
When complete (this weekend) going to put it in my sons hands at the track and see what potential it has...then I'll destroy him with my 810. ;-)
