Wow, its in the dirt....
i', running out to buy a lotto ticket...:)

looks great!!

That is the best looking, rusted out old truck I've ever seen.

How many total hours do you think you spent on that masterpiece?

Thanks, MrClean. I didn't really keep track of my time, but I'm definitely over 100 hours.
I'm still adding things in the bed, and I'm now checking out a few scale Chassis to sit it on.
There's also an excellent possibility that I'll do a full interior if there's room after it's motorized.

Nice pictures! Not sure if you said, but have you mounted it on any RC yet when you took the pictures, or is it just sitting on tires?

Never seen anything like that befroe, doubt I ever will again. I bow down to you oh Great One......
But dont get any ideas.......

LMAO. Thanks, Brushlessman.
Coby, I'm working out the details for a fully working chassis, but the photos were taken using dowels screwed in through the wheels and set at the right height.

Oh okay. Can't wait to see it actually working on a real chassis.

that body sucks!.............lol, just kidding, you are in a league of your own, awesome work my man!

I thought that was the $1000 crawler I posted here a while back, and there it is for 499.
That's really gotten my attention since it has the full frame rails and the LEAF SPRINGS

EDIT... I just took some more measurements, and the ground clearance, overall length and the wheelbase are ALL spot on.
Thanks for that link, abadk9420. I've got it bookmarked for future reference.

Glad I could help, It just seemed like the perfect match with a little bit of your ageing skills it would be a sweet ride.

Thats a pretty slammin deal. Would look nice tucked under this body!

I'm strongly considering the trailfinder chassis for my scale build. Rolex, that is different from the 1,000 crawler. It's set up to meet the measurements of the toyota hilux hard bodies. They've just been shipping these trucks in the last week or two, and they haven't really gotten it together yet. Some guys got a box of tires, box of shocks, then the rest a few days later, some never got there shocks, some had parts that didn't line up, etc... so I'm letting them work out the kinks.

I'll be standing in line waiting for them to get it all together. I just can't believe how perfect is is for my project.
I'm about to look at the other crawler just for comparisons.

Here's the link to the $1000 crawler.

Hey did you guys catch the video of the Toyota scaler towards the bottom of the page?
http://www.rcrockcrawling.com/product_info.php?cPath=47&products_id=766 it's the same link just scroll down it is a pretty cool video, just imagine it with rolex's body on it, that would be cool even though we all know when he gets done with it, it will never see the dirt let alone water, LOL!!

What a rip.. Its a nice looking rig but for a grand?? I dont think so.

I just bought a lot of rectangular brass stock today, in different sizes, and I'm about to build my own frame. I even got the stock for the leaf springs and brackets.
All I'll need right now are a couple of diffs and a trans, and I'll start to lay out some measurements.
Can anyone recommend the parts I need?

How ya gonna make the chassis?

If you keep it square, heat it and bend it like you want it for one chassis rail, then cut it down the center you will have two exact duplicate rails, one for each side.

I was gonna say tack two of the tubing pieces together so that after you bend them the way you want you would have a boxed in frame for more strength when you are out wheeling it but then I remembered that it's going to be a shelf queen like the rest of Rolex's RC's, LOL!!! so the the extra strength won't be needed, as far as the axles and tranny go you could probably get the ones that come in the $500 kit separately and just use them with your frame and what not....http://www.rcrockcrawling.com/index.php?cPath=44 http://www.rcrockcrawling.com/index.php?cPath=43 and use these pics to give you an idea for you chassis http://www.rcrockcrawling.com/product_info.php?cPath=48&products_id=746 http://www.rcrockcrawling.com/product_info.php?cPath=48&products_id=248
