:batman: I'm looking for a black front skid plate and all i can seem to find is the plastic kind and the center metal skid plate in black. I'm tryin to turn most everything from purple to black. I dunno just tryin to do something diff than what most people have and i can't seem to find a front skid plate in black.

Black anodized skids are just going to get scratched up and show their wear. Go with bare aluminum finish or stick with the stock plastic. Also, IMO the front and rear skids don't do much but add weight.

I really can't comment about a Savage but my Maxx holds up fine with the stock plastic skid plates, even after a nose dive from about 6 feet they didn't break. IMO you really do want some plastic in an MT to absorb some of the impact. If you have too much aluminum it just creates more havoc. Trust me, I've been through this. Good luck!

don't go with alum stick to the plastic
i'v done nose dives and cartwheels on the plastic ones and they aren't damaged

did 2 nose dives on an alum one and it was bent right upto the bulkhead
