Glow Plug Life

hey guys curious as to how often do you have to replace your glow plugs? I'm re-tuning an OS 12CV-R after about 8 years of sitting and had to break everything apart. Now I seem to be burning up glow plugs left and right. Also anybody using that engine how do you normally keep the mixture screw set? Just when I get it running good and idle it will run for about 3 mins then bog down and cut out. Thanx for any suggestions.

Once you get your engine tuned right, and you find the right plug for your engine, your plugs will last longer. A plug can last anywhere from 6 minutes to 6 months! You never know when one will burn out on you.

You definately hit it on the head with that one. However sometimes glow plugs can last under 6 minutes going all the way down to 6 seconds.
