Finally finished my Flux XL. I used mostly Alza, FLM, and other aftermarket parts. It's barely even a HPI product at this point!

Castle 1717 Motor (XO-1)
Castle Mamba XL2 ESC
Lunsford Titanium Tie Rods 4x85mm
HPI A720 Big Bore Shocks
Hitec 7955TG Servo
Golden Horizons Front Knuckles
Golden Horizons C-Hubs
Integy Rear Wheel Carriers
HPI HD Servo spring
Rpm radio box
Avid Bearings (all)
GCM Battery Box Mounts
Hot Racing 17mm hub kit
Hot Racing HSF299 hardened steel Spiral Cut Ring and Pinion Gears
GPM hardened bevel diff gears
Tekno 12T Pinion
Hot Bodies Lightweight 50T Spur
Futaba 3PM-X Radio/Receiver
Alza XL 5mm TVPs
Alza Center diff Kit
Alza LCG Bulkhead Plates
Alza Servo plate
Alza Upper arm braces
Alza Lower arm braces
FLM Bulkheads
FLM Drive Flux Cups
FLM Shock towers
FLM Drag link
FLM Extender Arms Set
HPI Super Mudders Tires
SPI Pro Stock Aluminum Wheels
The diffs are built using the Vorza duff cup, GPM hardened bevel gears, and Hot Racing HSF299 hardened spiral cut ring and pinion gears. I used 50K oil front and rear.
The center diff is a Vorza stock center diff with a 50T spur. I used 500K oil.
I used Tony's screws for the entire build.
Waiting for a center skid plate from Alza. Dejan has to make two some custom cuts in it to clear the CD kit.
I ran it for a bit today. Very fast, especially considering how heavy it is, and the ESC and motor ran nice and cool. I can definitely go with a larger pinion. Going to try a 13T next.
Thanks for looking!
Receiver wires go in the radio box from underneath. I used hot glue to keep them in place and seal the hole.
1717 peeking through.
Here you can see how the Alza LCG bulkhead plates keep the a-arms straighter, lowering the ride height.
Again.
Ride Height.
Bottom shot.
Had to grind down some of the cooling fins on the 1717 to clear the diff cup.
Alza CD Kit
Titanium tie rods.
Hot Racing 17mm wheel hex kit. I used stock Flux axles instead of XL axles. I already have the extra width from the extended a-arms, and the full offset wheels. No need to put extra stress on the wheel bearings.
Found these angled tie rod ends so the tie rods clear the big bore shocks.
HD servo spring and FLM drag link. Also shaved off some of the bellcrank to get a wider steering angle.
GCM battery box mounts.
Futaba 3PM-X
