Alright, so this friday i went out on the track. Some wet spots and plenty of
mud, no problem! took the maiden voyage for making a few backflips because
even if i intend to make my revo into a racer i want to have some fun with it
as well (gonna get another truck for bashing later on, tips anyone?).
Anyway, by the end of my session i start to hear funny noises from the car,
and by funny i mean noises you do NOT want to hear from it.
Brough it home, took off the engine and checked it best i could for cracks and
the like, checked the piston and arm and everything where still whole and shiny.
Proceeded to the tranny, alright there were a little rock who got stuck
between two tooths on one of the plastic gears (#5395) but hadn't made any
major damage which could cause the funny sounds. Going to get a
replacement for the gear soon enough since its still usable.
And as for the end of the story, proceeded to spin the tires a bit and
hearing the sounds again from the rear diff. Oh great....To my surprise upon
opening the diff case i find that all the gears inside are whole and well, just a
bearing who had broken and the bearing balls were scattered around inside it.
Is this something who happens alot or am i just a unlucky fellow who will need
to spend a $10 or so for a new bearing and grease? And while I'm at it and the
truck pretty much in pieces, should i check something else? Already spent
$300 on it this week alone and would like to be able to drive for more than an
hour before next thing happens.
