Went to a Hobby USA in Murfreesboro,Tn today and they said the 5b and 5t are discontinued due to being sued over the baja name. Anyone else here anything about this or is this just a bunch of bs? I was hoping to get one this spring.

Sued by who?

Even if it was true which it's not, HPI would just drop the Baja name and not discontinue the line.

I'd have to vote BS.

Then again, Losi did discontinue the "bug" body... but like RobMob said, I can't see them ditching the entire rig. The name perhaps, but not the cash cow that thing has become. It's like HPI's second savage!

So then who would be suing them? The Baja Peninsula? Figures...damn California..takin away all the good stuff cuz they have problems...yuppies..

isnt there some kind of car called the baja? sounds pretty dumb to me just another reason to sue companies or a big ol lie

COMPLETE BS

I'm not saying its true by ANY means because its not..but there is cheap Chinese fourwheelers and dirtbikes out there called baja.

He mentioned something about Volkswagen (being the one sueing)and he sold his last Baja last week. I hope it's a bunch of bs!

Subaru has a Baja. It's a new remake of the old Brat style. Pretty cool car. But I can't see why Subaru would sue them.

another questoin. How hard is the Baja 5b SS kit to put together? Is there anything put together in the kit?

The motor is put together. hehe

It's not hard just takes time. A lot of it.

The Baja is still up on the HPI website. So, I have to say the brown flag is flying and I smell something stinky. Oh yeah...it's your LHS....the are full of it...lol

It sounds like your extremely knowledgable hobby specialist has this confused with the issue that Losi was facing with the bug body... as Olds already pointed out. Losi was facing issues with VW, that's why they discontinued the Bug body. Rumors had started spilling out that Losi was discontinuing the LST when in fact they were only disconituing the bug body that fits the LST.

It is actually pretty easy as long as you are organized and follow directions.

You can even view step by step vids at www.hpibajatutorials.com before you embark on the build.

The motor is put together and the steering servo is put together. Everything else you build.

lol you need to designate the yuppies comment to southern California.

You got that right.

Looks like the Hobby store was wrong. I was just worried when I buy one that i couldn't buy any replacement parts for when I crash it(know I will). Thanks Russ
