It makes me pretty sad to sit in my apartment, knowing the things I could be making in a CNC mill if I could have one. I wish we had a maker space here. I would do whatever I could to donate a mill to them so I could go there and teach my kiddo how to use it.YESS!! This!! each has its forte' but with those 3 pieces of machinery you can pretty much build anything you can imagine that will fit on the machinery.. Back when I was machining my cars on my mill I bought my first printer to only make wheels for my cars.. cut to a few years later and the only things machined on one of my cars is the motor plate,LOL
What kind of machine work did you do? I started out in woodworking, then moved to an aerospace shop making parts for GE and Pratt Whitney. I then moved into prototype machining, mostly manual at first, but we followed a part from raw forging to finished part, which most ended up on the CNC at some point. I then went into the racing scene for 8 years, then finished my career in aerospace 4 years after that.
Here is a small sampling of some of the parts I made, along with some of my favorite co-workers lol.
