Ah I see what he did. He cut the old wire off and solder new wire on the old wire. :rolleyes:

needs more cold solder. buy a dollar store 15 watt one and use plumbing solder no flux
 
For what a Deans plug cost I would just buy a new one. You're past that point now so I would say throw some heat shrink tubing over that and call it good. If it works, it works.

How are you gonna get the shrink tube over that mess now that it's all soldered?..... black tape and forget it. :)
