is anybody else having trouble fitting the rotor start shaft with the wheelie bar in place would it better if it was an inch and a half longer is there anything else out there to use?

Your probably going to have to buy the xl shaft

I have the same problem..i have the HPI wheelie bar and my XL shaft is still too short. I tried to purchase a longer one but they told me i have the longest shaft which is the XL (get your minds out of the gutter) LOL

Have you guys thought about a drill bit extension? I have these dill bits that use a 1/4-inch hex shaft for use in a quick release chuck. I bought a 12-inch extension at Harbor Freight for a few bucks for a couple of jobs and it works great. You coud grind a groove in the end of your existing Roto Start shaft to mimic what's on the end of the drill bits and then it will even lock into place on the extension. Otherwise some duct tape/electrical tape will do the trick.

This one is 6-inches and magnetic:

This is the 12-inch one I have with the slip/lock collar:

If you don't have a Harbor Freight nearby try Northern Tool or even Sears...

The HPI Roto Start 2 shaft isn't 1/4". The Losi shaft is, but not the HPI.

I have a XL with wheelie bar and the XL shaft works fine

Well that sucks! So much for my idea! LOL

When I got home last night I tried it myself and you guys are right. Bummer...
