... its actually a RTR plus for my son and I to bash and work on together, but i cannot find much in the way of hop-ups!? Did i just "miss the boat" for this buggy or is my 1st hop-up gonna have to be the truck conversion? I know last year when i looked into them there were tons of hop-ups for it. Please help and thanks in advance.

Actually, the Storm is a great car.. Just sold mine on ebay. Out of the box, you shouldn't need hopups. But, if you insist on adding hopups to it, the back page of the manual (if it didn't come with the car, see www.rcdocuments.com) lists every availlable hopup for it, made by GS.

If you go that route, unless you get them from ebay, your best bet is to buy a Pro kit (cheaper overall). But, if money isn't an object, the RTR and upgrade to Pro a part at a time is a great father-son bonding project.

You'll love the Storm; I liked mine.

Also, when you first give it some throttle; you'll notice a "QUAAACK" sound... that's the exhaust header (in case you wonder about it).

I had to replace a One way for a guy in town here and took it for a rip and it was a fun lil buggy. I had a hell of a time finding parts for it, but found the most at Horizon (Like wannarunem said). But again, it seemed like a well built buggy and was quick and fun to drive.

www.rc-nation.com talk to steve. he's a great guy and has tons of pro parts in stock and is the cheapest I can find. I have a RTR plus and I love it!! you will have loads of fun with it. I'm in the process of upgrading everything to pro parts myself and the SUT conversion is the next thing I'm going to invest in. I can't wait!!! If you are going to bash the first things you need to do is the pro chassis. 7075 shock towers, adjustable servo saver pipe and if you have the JR radio system you shock be OK but if you have the GS radio system just plan on upgrading the servos soon. hope this helps and again I think you have made a very good investment! Have fun!!!

eh, let him get used to it and use it up. then move onto another car/truck

Decent buggy for the price. As Ryan kinda said, there are better/newer kits out there.
For bashing, you NEED the hindge pin braces. Ebay is a goos source of goddies too.

Meganitro.com and GSRACING.com

Fioroni is a good place to start.

I've had my Storm for about 2 yrs now and love it. Sure there are other newer buggies out there, but the Storm can compete with them.

Also add Stormer Hobbies to a list of parts suppliers. I've also bought from RC-Nation and would suggest them.

The metal hinge pin mounts are must-have add-on, as well as the hinge pin braces. Those two would keep the stock chassis in good condition. And then also thicker shock towers. That's where I started. I now have the Pro chassis and Fiorini braces.

GS storm owner

hiya, i've had a GS storm for a little while, i don't use it anymore and its up for sale as i've got a mp 777, theres a few things i think u ought 2 know about the storm tho, the lower wishbone mounts can come loose if u don't hold the nut when u tighten the bolt, this can cause damage to the chassis,
you can get a strengthening plate and pins fron your local GS specialist, sorry don't have the part numbers. A must for hop ups is rear shock tower, as the rear wing bolts through it it has quite alot of load when u roll the buggy, i broke a carbon one like this! ouch!, also the shock tops push down into the cap when u take a big hit as these are 2 peice items, this splits the shock diaphram, a remedy for this is fit the GS storm Pro shock tops, this will envolve getting the the ball joints and bushes and drilling out ur front shock tower to take the larger bolts.
hope some of this helps

also i used to buy lost of spares and hop ups from ebay, just keep looking and they will appear

I did a shock mod on the storm I sold recently. I took a thread cutter and put a nut under the washer that sits under the shock piston.... Never had that problem ever again.

can you explain to me a bit more what you did with the shock mod? cos the problem i was having was bottoming out hard and all the load through the front shock tops
