This is a spot near me. 5 minutes down the road. Pizza place right next year. It's been vacant for at least 10 years now.

It's a bit tight.
Smaller Mini Z track OR a smaller carpet track for Mini B / T would be nice. Carpet for 10th scale buggies, SCT and trucks are gonna be too tight.

Me 15yr is broke so I can only wish.

Could get my race buddy to do something but they live 30 plus minutes down south and bridge is gone so they aren't gonna come up here. Also it's too tight for 10th scale. Could make it work but highly doubt it if we could get the space.

Build they will come!!

If I wasn't so lazy, maybe.

Maybe edit my videos more.

You have to have at least 1 million plus subscribers on YouTube to make some money.
1K subs is when you start getting $$$. but 1M is when you actually can buy something with the money you get paid. My dad has about 20K subs and he gets about 30$ a month.

30 bucks can get me a pair of 10th scale tires. Ain't gonna cover a months worth of rent. Unless its super duper low.
Not to mention I still need a 1K+ timing system from mylaps and liverc subscription if I want to do racing. Or RCScoring pro. Or if I want to be on the cheap side, a trackmate IR system. If I knew how it works and stuff. As its IR.

Understand the desire, David. Honestly, though, RC tracks are for those weel-heeled with deep pockets. Maybe better for now to use your discretionary cash chasing regional and maybe a national event? Get a bucket load of racing experience under your belt before taking on managing a track.

For what it's worth. My 2cents.

Maybe. Always wanted to go to Masters Of Dirt, which is at Beach RC in SC. Its in October so work/school invades that. And if we want to use our timeshare, idk what points we will have, because of our previous vacations.

There is a vintage show down race this weekend at my local track but I can't go as Dad has work this weekend. And also, 40 bucks a class seems a bit expensive. But it is a bigger race, and I seen prices like that for ROAR events or bigger events. If I want to race at a ROAR regional race, pretty sure I have to have a membership with them. Ill see what the price is for it.

I'd be happy to help you, but my Gigolo days are behind me, best I'm getting are a couple of nickels and dimes here and there?!
And I hate fishin coins out of my stylish Mankini 😯😮😲🤤
I was thinking pornhub but I'd owe them money.

Possibly look into sponsorship from a shop or mfg? A positive attitude and strong results will definitely help. Save you some dollars and get you known for later down the road.

Same thing if I want to race with ROAR

Maybe. Trying to think of smaller brands that aren't well known that I can part with and stuff. I run name brands in my car. Jconcepts, hobbywing, proline, hobbywing. lfr, xpert.
The only brand I run that isn't well known in the race community is RadioLink for my radio, which I really don't want to be in part with them due to the RC8X issues I been having for the past 6 months and they don't acknowledge us having issues and its cheap china junk essentially. Although my 4GS works perfectly fine. Not really sure. ChinaHobbyLine? I run their batteries. Not well known in the higher end racing. I run for associated (basically) since I run a associated car.

Which is more likely to happen. Get in a sponsorship with a big name brand in the hobby, or a not so well known brand. ?

I remember someone on here a few months ago wanting a sponsorship with arrma and try to start a race team with them. If I can find that thread.

Are you in good with a local shop? That's usually the best place to start. Possibly get a job there and build up a reputation with them. Getting big name mfg to recognize your name is tough. Lots of fast people out there. You need a local source for parts and support.

Hobby shop#1: Chain store, remote control hobbies. They only stock basher parts, airplane and boat stuff. Some race stuff here and there such as radios but no big race brands. I don't even see associated on their wall. (25 minutes from home)

Hobby shop#2: Family owned. He used to have a track a few years back. Indoor carpet. he had to close due to rent being super duper high. (Used to be 15 minutes from home, but now 45 minutes due to the bridge) His hobby shop section is combined with his computer repair shop in the same building now. He is mostly computers. I rarely see anyone come in for RC stuff unless someone won a wraffle.

Those are just plain hobby shops/stores.

My local track, indoor dirt and mini z, fully stocked shop.
She only works by herself though, and its a hour away from home so can't go there every day. Like right now just for racing or practice on the track, I could only go once every few months. Hopefully that can change for this summer because, school.

Last summer at the old track, I was going down every thursday for racing in June and July. He tried to start up a little shop section, but it was mostly mini z stuff. and he had to close in november because of fire code and I guess they were just kicking him out. He is still trying to find a new spot so I just sent him this pic. But I know he doesn't want to drive an hour up here. Ideally a new spot in central MD would be good so people from all directions can come and somewhat have an equal drive.

All the other local tracks are outdoor tracks, just for fun tracks. Not huge competition or racing or anything.
And all the other local indoor tracks, atleast for offroad are hours away in PA. Or south in VA. (997 RC, The Factory, Adrenaline RC, ect)

Now since I am getting my hands into onroad. My local onroad track, 180, is 20 minutes from home. Only a track though.

Think about putting sponsorship on the back burner for a while, David. Running as an independent has the advantage of being able to pick and choose what you what to run and where you want to run it. You get good enough and they'll come looking for you - and with a much more lucrative offer than you'll get as a walk on.

Saying this from experience. Sponsored for two seasons and while it had its [discount] advantages, it really limited my ability to run what I felt I needed to improve my program. Sponsorship works both ways. A sponsored racer needs to give as much as they get. Sometimes more. Think carefully about it and talk it over with your dad and your family.

Just sayin. -AC
