Diff Case Cleaner

I want to add some heavy duty diff case (gearbox) fluid into my DR10 diff case. I was wondering what cleaner to use when I take it apart? Any recommendations?
I know some people have used gasoline but that seems like it may harm the plastic gears.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Simple Green or Super Clean (Walmart brand) works for most greases. Super Clean has the added benefit of removing chrome from plastic parts quite easily
