Hello helpful person/s,
I'm going to start this by saying
I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Radio controlled Cars and only a little more about normal cars!!! Sooooo,
I'm so glad you're reading this
Here's the drama; Teenagers never know what they want, right? Or quite often they surprise you, aswell as themselves and all of a sudden "just know" - right?
Well that's what's happened, my son finally knows what he wants!!! For he's 18th birthday.....
I think this idea is fabulous, bloody awesome actually! I may have even suggested it to him once or 5 times in the past lots and lots of weeks - you know so I could be organised for he's birthday. Anyway, I have finally got a definitive answer for what my son wants for he's birthday. A Radio Controlled Monster Truck. Yep, for he's birthday - in 5 days!!!!!
Like I said I am all for this. s going to put down he's remote controller and pick up a radio control and new hobby.
The problem I know nothing, the one he "researched" is crazy expensive, the battery is extra and the trick itself may not arrive until January (not entirely he's fault, mail delays).
I've had a look for different types, models, etc. Now I'm even more confused!!
If anyone has any advice, suggestions or tips I would be extremely grateful - hearing the words "it would be the best gift ever" and the passion he already has for the idea has got me going at full throttle and needing a RC Monster Truck by Friday. ?
I know so little that I can't think of whatto ask, that I need to know so I can chose and purchase he's present ?
I'm wondering please;
Would it be benificial purchasing a kit, so he can learn the ins and outs while assembling? He is 100% new to this hobby.
The one he wanted was electric, would that be best for a bigginer? Is petrol or nitrous expensive over time? will this hobby get expensive?
Can you go to a shop and build one? A bit like build a bear ?
And,
selling a radio controlled car without a battery is like selling a kit house without a floor....hmmm yep they do both!
Anyway, sorry for the novel. I hope someone has made it through to the end of it and has some awesome advice for me.
Thank you in advance
Hayley
