Heres a little how to for making a BP 2spd or all steel one.

Parts needed:
Tools
  • Cordless drill
  • Vise
  • Dremel
  • 600 or 800 grit sand paper
  • Safety glasses

The Hot Racing steel/ti first gear is discontinued. Not much point in upgrading the rest eith plastic first.

Doesn't Robinson Racing make steel gears for Savage?

Thier online catalog only shows spurs and clutchbells.

That's all I saw there too. Surprising since they make a full set for the revo/t-maxx both old and new versions.

I guess before the recent powerhouse engines people can cheaply buy, the savage held up. I mean, back in the day, it was all about the Picco 28, which out of the box was an animal, but I doubt it had the torque some of the .30+ engines have these days. I have a NIB picco 28 that I never installed in anything sitting on a shelf... knee-jerk purchase on a forum for $150 if I remember right...
