    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

On the diffs ,there is 3 pin ears ,in forward motion ,it is the first forward ear that is the first one to blow out ,then the middle one an the third one follows suit! By protecting that first ear with the plate ,the rest shouldn't blow out ,sense the diff in the rear is turned around , the...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

I was wrong ,those pins do go into the ear of the arm ,an they only reach half way ,I can swap them out ,not a big deal! Are you talking bout the rear diff? If so ,yea ,I can make a plate for that ,but the stress factor will be reversed!...LOL The rear would have to be made differently ,but ,I...

Got the hinge pin out of the top ,thank God for vice grips ,thing was a jolly getting out! Here is the mount & pin! Did get the new mount on ,but it has a hair bend ,but not bad! Tomorrow ,I will try to bend the pin back ,its only aluminum!....:hehe: An try to get some axles & hubs on.

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

Yea ,I took it apart ,an the bearings were fixing to grenade ,the inner bearing bushing was real wobbly inside the outer reese! I didn't plan on this ,as I thought they were ok ,but it has been a long time ago since I had them apart for fresh grease!

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

Ok ,upon getting ready to put the diff back in the truck ,I discovered that the output cups are way too sloppy ,I guess now is the time to tear into the diff an clean ,grease ,an put that new Fast Eddy bearing in!.......DOH....UGH.. Well ,I better get busy!.....

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

I went ahead an used the lower original screw in pin ,the threads on the pin screwed right into the plate , the pin does go half way into the last ear ,which is about the width of the plate ,but I am not concerned about that as the stress is not on that part! The top pins are the same thickness...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

The bit was the same size as the pin ,Which is 11/64 ,2 hairs bigger than an 1/8!....:hehe: I thought it was an 1/8 at first ,but went out to make sure ,luckily the 64 was still visible on the bit! The aluminum is 1/8 thick ,an the bit was just slightly thicker ,but the bit is the same diameter...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

Its been cold ,so I am slow of getting it done ,I just trial fitted the screw in pins ,I must have got the drill bit size just right ,the pins screwed right in!..... I think ,that its a winner ,I hope ,at least it should help on some abuse!....:hehe: Now I got to trim the ecess material...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

Lol...yea they don't move too well once they get bent! I got to take that plate back off an start trimming it ,it has been cold ,an I haven't had the will power to get out an do it! However ,the plate is a little off at the bottom as it walked on me has I was drilling ,it should still be ok ...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

LOL....By you asking me that ? ,you just made me think of another idea! I do have a bunch of the original screw in hinge pins ,but I am not using those types ,I have the Lunsford titanium hinge pins which don't screw in ,they have the little e-clip on the ends! I will probably have to put the...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

A member here had peaked my interest in a diff. hinge pin mod! The lower a-arm hinge mount is molded to the diff in which is prone to break or the pin to blow out sometimes on an awkward hit ,in which I had it happen to me twice ,once in the front an one time in the rear from a nasty hill cart...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

I just got the chassy cleaned up ,can really tell how one or two of the a-arms are pinched an don't move freely! I have new top hinge pin mounts ,it is the mount that is bent ,I remember one time trying to bend one back ,its hard ,they are loose ,this would be a good place to put some Loc-tite...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

Took some pics as I get my parts out an clean so I can start putting it back together! I am also putting a tape measure to the parts so that people can get an idea of the parts size. The diffs are pretty meaty an are a good solid diff ,never had problems with them from factory , they haven't...

    Install my Fast Eddy bearings

I think that I remember why I put this off ,further looking into my photos ,I see other issues that needed addressed , here is another issue ,a bent hinge pin mount! Diff cases an these parts do last along time ,although ,as plastics get old ,they get brittle in time ,they will snap if they get...
