That shim kit might seem expensive but it is a bargain. The giant corncob of gears is an investment.

I am still having some trouble getting my SK up to speed. It will go about 3 1/10 th’s slower than the rest and I am struggling. Last time out I was going well and creamed the wall breaking everything on the right front. Friday night I was going pretty well and actually staying with the front...

I raced my SK sportsman class car this weekend. We use a 25.5 motor and I can get a 3.9second lap. But it was mostly 4.1 second laps. The light cars are 17.5 and there pro cars use a 13.5 I think. I did not do well this weekend. Just did not put in the work last week and it showed. You...

Then there is the whole black art of cutting the tires down. Narrowing the tires and all the traction compounds. Ugg….tires.

There are two tire types foam yellow, purple and blue stripe. And rubber tire. The blue and the yellow are for different types of cars all together and each tire type comes in multiple compounds of hardness. The affect on handling is dramatic. Beside the color stripe. The hardness is a sticker...

I did not realize this was a 17.5 motor pro class car. The class I am is sportsman and we run the 25.5 motor. The 17.5 will be very fast.

This weekend is pan car racing so I’ll be running my SK sportsman car. It is all repaired and I have a new body. I am finding that the cars are easy to drive and handle well. But driving them fast is really challenging. Practice Friday night.

I have my SK kinda up to speed. The fast guys are turning 3.8 second laps and I am a solid 4 second car, and I can get 3.9 once in a while. That was good enough for third place in my first race. There seems to be about three tenth of a second that is all driver. If you turn to sharp you bog down...

I ended up replacing the 9650 servo with the plastic gears for a protec with metal gears. At the speed these things go a servo saver can only do so much.

The screws are not metric in those mounts and the top couple holes require a short screw. If that helps

    SK Modified Build

I got some more practice in today. At my track 3.8 seconds is a very fast lap. And I have been at 4.2 for a while. I finally got the ride height and tires and gearing sorted and I am running 4.0 all day and a couple 3.9s with some more practice I can get a 3.8. I bought a tire trying set up. Now...

I caught the wall at speed and took out the gears on my Futaba 9650 servo so I am switching to a Savox metal gear servo. These cars are so fast. I also bent the screws that hold the front suspension and damaged the wheels. Season starts October 1

Make sure when you install the body the carbon chassis pan must be covered from the lower edge of the windshield back. I actually got protested because my body is a couple millimeters to far back. Make the front of the body at the front edge of the chassis. Apparently these SK guys take it very...

I just got the new SK Hurrikane from the Cedar Rapids bullring. In the video Scott Geitzenauer the designer of the Hurrikane is the driver of the blue and white car.
