Well it was a partial success. Ran good for a few mins then stopped moving, assumed the pinion came loose cause could hear the motor spinning. Took it apart and it was the slipper clutch came loose, tightened it and back in action. The esc fan wouldn't spin the second time so esc got a bit hot...

She's is ready to take for a rip this afternoon once it warms up, 19 this morn. Have the 50t spur and 19t pinion(hobbyshop didn't have a 20 in .8mod) with 3600kv motor. Hoping it will do at least 40-45 on 3s. I'll try the 26t pinion some other day.

I pulled the trigger and bought the mega slider from eBay. Getting a 120amp quicrun and rocket 3600kv 3660 motor. Putting in the 50T spur from 3s version and got a 21t and 26t pinion. Got 4 silver hoon tires from Amazon for a little over 50$ so they last longer. Ordered a 25kg high speed servo...

What kinda speed u get with the 2400kv with the 31t pinion on 3s?

That's interesting, the esc I used for the goolrc motors was a goolrc esc so maybe the motors are ok just not the speed controller. Thanks for the info. Yeah, the plastic spur makes sense if you can get to it relatively easily, some of my cars are a huge pain in the ass to get to the spur though.

I've had no issues with the ezrun 120 in my team associated b6. Runs great. I have had terrible experience with goolrc motors, cog like a sonvabitch and no torque. Wanna try a sensored setup and the ezrun and rocket are inexpensive parts I've had good experience with. Thanks for the advice...

I agree, basically I wanna push the 9t brushed motor as far as it will go. It just seems weird to me that the setup is so flawed and can burn out so easily. Obviously brushless is better but what can a brushed do besides crawl? Hopefully 30-35. If not..oh well, got a ezrun 120 and rocket 3660 in...

I will definetly be looking to upgrade to brushless at some point, just wondering if anyone has tried the brushed on 2s with the same gearing as the 3s.
