    VS4-10 pro build

So this is the end of the build The interior is really cool how it is part of the truck bed. Designed by James Knight of Knight Customs it is pretty nice and uses a Tamiya driver figure. The paint is Duratrax Lime Pearl #8981 backed with PS 12 silver and then basic black. This has been a...

    VS4-10 pro build

I decided to paint the inner fenders to match the body. I’m not sold in it but can always paint them black later. Flat black on the wheel side

ya, and I ain’t building another either. There are three reef servos. Winch, Dig and steering I wanted all the servos and motor to match. And I want all the options. Unfortunately I won’t be dropping this off five foot high rock piles. Or even actually running it much. It just to nice for me.

Now comes bodywork and paint. No rest for the wicked.

    VS4-10 pro build

Now that the chassis and suspension is together I can really appreciate the quality of this kit. I have a couple other crawlers to compare it to and it does not compare. Everything fits together perfectly. Everything moves exactly like it should and nothing interferes or binds. It all looks...

That’s a nice set up. I know what you mean about moving. Got a new knee now so it’s better.

    VS4-10 pro build

I moved the tools into a tool box I can carry to the race track or rocks. And built shelves for parts boxes and some tools. The pegboard that I had went out in the shed to hold big stuff.

My garage is just my workbench. I just decorated the walls with scraps and doll house stuff. Did not spend much on it really. But it is a very functional work space.

Ya, I never use creepers . 42 years as an auto tech. I don’t like how you move around trying to turn bolts. Now a days it’s all lift work so not much call for them. I got a roll around stool from snap-on. Had a hole so it was cheap. Use it every day in my tiny shop now.

O snap! I’ll be working on that tonight. I think I’ll pick up a hot wheel on my way home. thanks for the idea.

Major progress happening. The suspension is going together. The links are titanium. Each rod end consists of a metal body with a brass insert and an adjustment screw. There is zero play or slop. The suspension movement is super smooth and precise. The motor and transmission go in with very few...

The next bit of heavy lifting is the transmission. The VFD transmission is really good. The motor is under the transmission and as far forward as it can be. inside the trans are all metal gears with 6% overdrive. I am adding an accessory kit from Vanquish that will provide 26% overdrive to the...

Construction of the axle assembles is really the most fun part. The Curry F9 axles are just beautiful. The boys had no trouble getting them assembled.

    VS4-10 pro build

The boys made some progress on the frame over the weekend. The way the frame braces work is pretty cool. They not only act as very strong supports but they double duty as servo mounts and accessories.

So they got the frame together. Typical C channel steel. Nicely powder coated. The plastic frame supports are very large and hold the servos. The frame ends up being very ridged

    VS4-10 pro build

I finally decided I wanted to build a VS4-10. I have had Vanquish products on my SCx10 ii based rigs and have always been satisfied with them. After months of research and planning I started buying parts. Some parts are very difficult to buy. They are made in small batches and go up on there...
