i usually tighten mine all the way down then back it off about a full turn. that should put you close to where you need to be. then you will have to fine tune it as you run.
as to which one is better than the other, too tight as well as too loose can both cause you problems. i wouldnt recommend...
i have put a lot of work in to making the evader a decent rig. i will be the first to admit, it wasn't the best of vehicles to begin with. But ya know, i only gave 100 bucks for the evader rtr. the way it sits now though, i really like the way it handles, maybe even better than my rusty's. like...
suspension is all stock, except for the toe links i had to fabricate out of some all thread and brake line because the stock ones kept breaking. but the stance and suspension travel and all that is the same as it was stock.
last time we got the evader out, i broke two of the cv drive shafts...
The tacon motor has basically identical performance specs as traxxas velenion for a fraction of the price. Now I'm not downing the velenion just saying you can get same performance for fraction of price, now as far as longevity of the tacon, I don't know because I have only had one a short time...
Yea I forgot all about the punch settings. Will that help even if say I am running at 3/4 throttle then go to wide open? Cause it will back flip then too.
Pugs we definitely need less obstacles to dodge. Can't believe that I almost knocked the road sign down with you pede. Those signs are...
IMO tacon motors are an awesome bang for the buck. I put a tacon 540 4300kv in an evader, paired it with a castle sidewinder esc and I am loving the performance. I was only out around $80 for the pair. $30-$35 for the motor $50ish for esc
Thank you greywolf very much for the help. The stock gearing (48p) was 80/22 if I remember correctly. That gearing was too high once I switched to the trenchers (they are quiet larger than the stock tires) I am trying to find a good ratio so I can run the trenchers. Last combo I tried was 60/18...
Stock spur/pinion on the evader is 48 pitch and it just can't handle the brushless power that's why I was switching to 32 pitch. No worries though I just spent $50 dollars on a wide variety of spur/pinion tooth counts. I will figure it out with the trial and error method.
I am running a tacon 540 4300kv on my evader and,of course, I melted the spur gear. I am replacing with a 32 pitch and was wondering what your suggestions are for what tooth count to use on the spur/pinion....I have a 60 tooth spur on the way, what would be a good pinion size to match that with...

i broke my rear diff gear and housing, is there an upgrade for that, or would you just replace it with stock?
how do these work guys. i just need like a quick run down of the advantages and how exactly they install. like do they replace anything or whats the deal. do i need to buy anything along with them to get them to work??
Been doing the jasmin a lot longer than r/c that's for sure, lol. And do it sober? Come on now, there's no way I could fool with that small of parts without some 'inspiration'. But honestly like he said we are really stumped because we eventually had two complete setups laying there hooked up and...
