Wow, I remember when this thread started. It was a great, well documented build. Beautiful boat!
Boats are a lot more work than most people would think....especially when you scratch build them.
Go here : http://offshoreelectrics.com/rc_boats/aqua_jet/aqua_jet.htm and check out the Xtreme Aqua Jet 700SC Motor version. It's one of the fastest rtr boats out there. Much cheaper than an EX modded to go the same speeds.
You don't need a new servo or radio, the one that the truck came with will work just fine. Your LHS is wrong. You just need the motor and speed control. You don't need to buy extra diff gears either, you just need to shim the diff gears....but shimming the diff is something that needs to be...
Go pull out that old Crest Spinbrush that you've got laying under your bathroom sink that you don't use anymore, and pull out the motor from that. (and if you don't have one, go buy one and take the motor out of it.)
That little Spinbrush motor will smoke any motor you'll find in the...
Savagelover, due to other things being connected to the terminals, you'll have to solder your own wires on there. It's not hard, if you need help just ask! Once you do it once or twice, there's nothing to it.
Thanks man, glad you're still here too. Aww, let's hug haha jk.
My problem is I can't stay still. I get one thing and do everything I can to learn everything about it and then after spending all of my extra cash I move onto something else and the process just keeps repeating itself. I've...
I've said it before and I'll say it again :preachin: ...Great Planes S-280bb with replaceable brushes. I'm tellin ya, you just can't beat it.

They go over your outdrives---> the plastic part that comes out of your diff and the spring and dogbone slides into. You have 4 outdrives total. They're there to keep the plastic parts from spreading apart under load, and that keeps the dogboes from popping out.
Those "outdrive savers" will work, but you'll spend WAY more money than you have to buy buying those. You can go to your local home improvement stores and go to the plumbing section. What you want to pick up are some 5/16 compression sleeves. Not all Lowes or Home Depots have that size (it's...
If you're just looking for a good upgrade from stock, you'd be happy with that, kinda. The charger will take a long time to charge your battery, so if you don't mind the time, it's a good deal. Here a link to one cheaper:http://www.badhorsie.com/products/rechargeable-batteries.html

I personally reccomend you to stay away from the Itsy Bitsy Spyder. From everything I've heard about them from people that have them, they're a piece of crap....they've got tons of problems with them. Plus, it's Trinity. Trinity puts out good products, but they're just starting to get into...
It will handle 7 cells no problem, but won't last as long as it would if it were only ran on 6 cells. Don't worry, it'll still last for a while. The more volts you put through a motor the more heat the motor generates which leads to more wear. I think with 8 cells you'd see a pretty big...
You should check out www.CountryAlloyWorks.com . They have some pretty cool stuff for great prices. It's a Dad and Son operation...real good people....and free shipping inside the US!
