HPI Baja air filter cap
We’ve all been there, we’ve needed to clean the air filter of our HPI Baja and looking around the bench for a “clean” rag to stuff into the into the intake of the carburetor to prevent dirt getting into the engine. Or worse, you don’t cover the intake at all only to later find something has made it’s way into the engine.
Aluminum HPI Baja pinion and clutch mount
While companies like RAMTech-RC has already been making aluminum pinion/clutch mounts for the HPI Baja 5B and Baja SS, HPI has now added their own version of an aluminum baja pinion and clutch mount.
The new HPI 5B aluminum pinion/clutch mount is a replacement part for the stock nylon mount which tends to warp and wear out causing binding and improper gear mesh. The HPI aluminum mount is made of heavy duty aluminum which provides better support and durability and longer gear life. The HPI aluminum pinion and clutch mount comes with two rubber sealed ball bearings that have a larger outside diameter for longer life and efficiency.

HPI Baja 5b SS Kit with clear body
When the HPI Savage came out customers asked for a kit version, and HPI gave us the HPI Savage SS. Well the HPI Baja 5b is no different, almost as soon as the HPI Baja 5b came out customers asked for a kit version and once again HPI Racing is delivering – with the HPI Baja 5b SS!
The new HPI Baja 5b SS (Super Sport) comes completely unassembled and unpainted body. The HPI Baja 5b SS like other HPI SS models comes with a nice list of upgraded hop-up parts. Upgraded parts such as a larger 26cc engine compared to the standard 23cc found on the RTR version. HPI has also upgraded the RTR plastic differential case with a rigid aluminum case. HPI has also improve the handling of the HPI Baja 5b SS with the addition of front and rear anti-sway bars. The HPI Baja SS shocks are also feature thicker shafts for better jumping.
HPI Baja 5b SS
It’s been rumored now for a while, however only recently has HPI Racing made it official that there is going to be a HPI Baja 5b SS buggy. In fact Tower Hobbies already has the large scale buggy listed for $919.99 with an availability date of “Mid Oct”.
The new HPI Baja 5b SS large scale buggy will feature many hop-ups found for the HPI Baja 5b RTR already included with the HPI Baja 5b SS. Features such as heavy duty deadlocks, heavy duty dog bones. The HPI Baja 5b SS will also include a larger Fuelie 26cc gas engine as well as thicker shock shafts and improved rear shock tower.

Gives snappy low-end response, yet still offers unmatched top-end performance!
The DDM Dominator pipe features top-quality steel alloy construction, single-piece design to minimize leakage, ultra-sturdy mounting system, and jaw-dropping high polish show chrome finish. Installation requires very minor trimming of rear frame ‘box’ surrounding the pipe. This design is to allow the pipe to be sufficiently wide to allow for MAXIMUM performance, while still being VERY well protected – pipe is very unlikely to be exposed in a rollover.
Includes genuine Zenoah exhaust gasket and mounting hardware. Weight is approx 1.65 pounds. Pipe is covered by lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects from DDM. Fits Zenoah and Chung Yang engines.
