Like the one shown in the web-address above. What's the main purpose of this link mount?

I was looking at my axial the other day and though that the stock "Y" link would provide more articulation than 2 separate links relying on the limited swivle action of fixed ball links.

For example, if the axel were connected ONLY by the stock "Y" link, one could spin the axel like a top. If you had the axel connected only by this aluminium upper linkg mount, the movement of the axel would be significantly reduced.

Is the only purpose of this link to reduce torque twist?

thanks

Anything to get rid of torque twist on an axial is worth it in my opinion. That 4 link plate wont limit your travel much if any, plus if it does it will be for the better, the axials have too much travel stock anyways imo so limiting it is a good idea....those are out of stock though.

EEM has 4 link plates by strc.

Plus replace your stock skid with one of these will help reduce torque twist alot...

Yeah what SNG said X2 and unless you plan on going to a BTA (behind the axle) steering set up I would pick up one of the STRC front 4-link/battery/servo mounts

too much articulation makes the rig unpredictable and unstable, you only really need about a beer cans worth of articulation, it is better to float a wheel then have it plop down in a hole, IMO.

thanks fellas.

I've already got my link plate drawn up in CAD. I figure it's simple enough I can fab one up without the use of a CNC. I'll post pics when I'm finished. I've also been toying with the BTA steering setup, is one design better than the rest?

That should work fine as long as everything is lined up corectly, I have a Jet Boat BTA kit and it works great with VP High Steer Knuckles

Here is what it looks like.
