Does anyone own this book, or have you read it?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0911295585

I was wondering if it was worth getting or not. I know that I could probably find the same info online for free, but the convenience of having everything together and being indexed neatly in one place would be nice.

Have you tried looking for it as a PDF, or digital book? I would definitely buy it if it came out that way.

I have the dvd ,its worth having as a guide but to me its more aimed at on roaders

I have that book I'm a newbie on rc and it has really
Helped me out would definately recommend it

I have it. It was great in the days before You-Tube. Its pretty useless now.

I've had this book for quite some time and have used it on multiple occasions. I'd recommend to anyone first getting started into nitro to get a copy of it.

i seen this years ago lol, i think my lhs had a copy. I could be wrong where i seen it but i know of this book. I think with youtube you can get some great advice. You just have to skip threw the BS and you can get some good rc info.

Agreed...it's a beginner's guide and the information inside of it can be found here:

With that money you could replace all the bearings in your vehicle. ;-)

What IS missing is a 'Race Tuning' guide. Ron Paris (RIP) authored one, but it does not go into enough detail (IMO) to answer many of the questions someone might have to go from a basic tuning--to a true, optimized, 'OMG!!!' race tune. Any spare like myself can come up with something, but would really like to see someone like Neal Smith author one. IMO, going from a 'it runs nice' tune to a 'this is how your engine should really run' tune is the more challenging of the two.

Neal wont author one. Hes been doing it for so long, he just tunes. Its hard for him to put that in to words.

Its like one of us writing a book on how to make a sandwich. You would take so much for granted and leave out so much without realizing it.

There is a demonstration online about giving instructions using a p&j sandwich. Its pretty amusing. Would you think to put "take the knife out" in the instructions?

People that have been doing this a long time take too much for granted. You need a new guy to write it with Neal advising.

Oh I know. In fact I've actually talked with him about it before. My point is that there are a select few that could generate such an artifact that would be a worthwhile read.
