unfortunately trek hadn't released the 27.5 models when I ordered mine ): but I have ridden several giant 27.5 full suspension bikes, they're great. fast AND nimble

Well, drug my ass out at 6AM today to get in an 8AM ride. The new shoes and pedals made a HUGE difference, no more calf cramps, and I can finally stand and climb to give other muscles a rest. I did much better all around, and didn't have to quit on any of the climbs today, even the long one I walked some of last week. I'm finally learning to back off and let the other guys go at the bottom, and just crank it out at my own pace to the top so I don't blow up early and have to stop. Had my first flat today too, along with some chain issues. I love the loop we did today, lots of climbing (for me anyway), but a great area to ride through.

Picked up a nice seatpost that offers a bit of give for our rough roads around here, and a TQ wrench to make sure everything is installed properly. Also set a PR on Tuesday's group ride, 4th place out of 46 ain't bad for a noob!

^^Nice! I ordered a new bike today, along with a 70mm stem and some 29 inch bars. I'll post pics once it's assembled, looks like Friday for delivery.

Well, the UPS guy showed up this evening and I just got finished with this build. I have a couple buds with single speeds, and been wanting to try out a 650b, so with the 21% off and free shipping even on bikes, I couldn't say no. I had to machine a bit off the rear caliper mount to get rid of disc drag, and I added my own seatpost, saddle, bars, and grips. I also installed DMR chain tugs, and will get my 20T cog installed tomorrow at the shop. Just need to check saddle measurements, get my rear cog installed and it's ready for it's first rip. Chain stays are 1/2" shorter than my 29er, so I bet it wheelies good I'm excited!!
