does anyone know how I could get my hands on a late model pro stock 1/8 scale nitro kit? Preferably one that was race ready.

If you're talking about drag cars, then here is a site that sells kits for rolling vehicles (no engine/motor) I know nothing about these other than that they look awesome:

I think you need to buy the original car:
