hyper 7
i recently got into the rc game and bought a hyper 7 rtr. I have not had much experience of other cards, but the hyper 7 is great. The engine that comes with it is very good and fast and the buggy is solid and does not break easily. I have broken it once, but driving flat out into a concrete post does that sort of thing.

I think you could get a better answer from the Forum if you also include what price range you are trying to come in at.

In my personal opinion - the best RTR buggies are the GS Storm RTR, and the Ofna Hyper 7 PBS RTR. If u go with the ofna, get the PBS version only, as it includes a starter box, and the new hyper 8 port engine.

ill 2nd that (storm rtr/hyper 7 pbs) , but as a note the starter box will have a problem starting the hyper 8, until its broke in.. |

If you get a buggy of any kind, you will eventually dump a grand into it anyway, nothing is more addicting than this hobbie! I really like my(arr) gs storm, the rtr version comes with a great radio, the car is pricey but you pay for the quality upfront, you really wont need to do too much to it, Nitroadicts choices were good, the starter box is a good bonus, but I have heard its no too powerful! It will start the car but you may want to break it in first, the compression is a little too much for that box at first, ask nitroadict, he has more starter boxes than cars!lol!
I just saw a Ofna Hyper 7 PBS RTR on ebay for $410,, you better hurry b4 I buy it! Have fun! Last edited by nitromaniac; 9-29-2003 at 12:24 PM. |

i own the storm rtr. Had it for a little more than a month. I got a hundred dollar discount and ended up paying roughly $600 for the entire thing. ITs worth it though. Ive broken almost nada and the two things i broke were because i was dumb. Get whatever your LHS stocks more of and reccomends.

honestly.. i like the hotbodies lightning.. BUT ill be honest, its better to buy the pro version and a radio set up... in the 6 months i have run my pro all ive busted is 2 wing stays at 4$ a pop... and im running a picco with 18t cb in it... with any other engine i have not broken anything.. but its crazy with this set up..

I too own a GS Storm (ARR) and am totally convinced it's one of the best bang for the buck buggies around. It is WAY fast even in stock form, tough as nails and handles pretty well right out of the box. In one day I did about 15 40+ (I have pics and vids to prove it.
foot jumps with it and broke nothing but I did tweak the shock towers a tad. Those will need to be replaced for anyone planning on massive air launches on a regular basis.Had a head on collision with another Storm and only broke a chassis bolt... easy fix. |

i own the storm rtr and LOVE IT. It is the best buggy for the buck. I spent $600 on my storm and it is almost stock. My friend has a $1000 mugen mbx5 pro. We race in his backyard often and ive beaten him many more times than ive lost.

Hey dudes, I know it is totally new and all but why not take a look at the new PRP Swift RTR, (or as some call it on the GRID the MBX5 in disguise!)

Featuring: CS Hi-Performance .21 Engine w/ps, Machined hard-anodized aluminum chassis, graphite chassis components, Racing FM 3-Channel Radio, and much more! The Swift will change the RTR world as you know it. We call it "Pro RTR"! 2 pics http://www.happytimehobby.com/cars/swift/swift.jpg http://www.happytimehobby.com/cars/swift/swifttop.jpg its also pretty cheap at $450 Last edited by Neo-Buggy Phil; 10-03-2003 at 12:25 PM. |
