universals or CVDs?
inferno 7.5 -- which would be better to run? The Universals or MIP CVD's?
i've heard that the vibration would have the setscrew in the CVD's to work loose very easily, even when loctite'd, and that it's better to just run the universals |

Maybe Im getting my terminology mixed up here but arent universals and CVDs different??
Universals replace the front or rear dogbones and CVDs replace the front and rear center drive shafts...no?? I have a set of front universals on order for my 7.5 so I'll let you know if I notice a difference.

1515 CVD Kit for MP-7.5 (frt/rear)
1516 CVD Center Drive Kit for MP.7.5 Those are the two I just orderred. They are both CVD's (this name is trademarked and copyright by MIP) Constant Velocity Drives. The above are both center drives and outer drives. Both of which are CVD's Dynamite makes Universals........ Just an example. But they are the same conecpt with a slightly different design. But more or less they are the same concept/design/price. |

i had no idea there was a difference. i'll have to find out what's on my Lightning Pro.
ahh.. right off the HB website: * front universal axles * center universal axles sweet. i need to buy another set of the front universals as they are a direct fit on the rear. whats the deal with "CVD" vs "universals"? two different companies make the same type of product? CVD's have a setscrew that can vibrate out? |

From everything I've read there really isnt that much difference running universals in the rear of a buggy. I havent tried it myself yet so I may be wrong but most of the setups ive found say that dogbones in the back are fine but you get much better handling from universals up front.
