8ight B 2.0 gear shims

hi all, just cracked open the 8ight 2.0 to do diffs , do u have to use shims in rear diff does anyone run without them

You add them as the diffs wear. They should not be necessary at first. If you make sure the diff only have a very miniscule amount of backlash, they will last a long time. I have a diff from my first 8 buggy with 8-10 gallons on it, with very little wear to show for it.
