Mugen VS RC8

Looking to get into the 1/8 Truggies or maybe a buggy. What are the pros and cons between the buggy VS truggy...
and what are everyones experiances with the Mugen and the RC8...I have an old school RC10 Buggy (old gold frame style) and I had it as a kid...loved it and it was tough as nails!...now it sits on a self...maybe i'll break her outta retirment with some new go fast goodies someday...anyway...
what does everyone think?

You can't go wrong with either one. I have a Mugen MBX5 Prospec, and the thing handles like it's on rails. Being an Associated person as well, you can't go wrong with the RC8 either. It looks well put-together.

yeah i'm not sure if my LHS we race at has a lot of Mugen stuff..i may look into it...if they dont i know they have the RC8 stuff...that may be my determining factor lol.
what are your thoughts on the Buggy VS Truggy deal?
someone told me the Buggies are a little harder to drive bc of the thinner tires...any truth to that? It kinda makes sense but like I said i'm just wondering how true that is.

Well, truggies are supposed to be more forgiving to drive. I know that concept applies to 1/10th scale electric 2WD's like the RC10T and 10B vehicles. The buggies tend to be a little more agile, but less tolerant of mistakes.

i really like the RC8 but i've seen guys really hammer on the Mugens and they take it all day and come back for more w/o a problem.

I've plowed mine into the sides of ramps, plywood, and all kinds of stakes... I haven't broken one part yet.

The RC8 race specs are tough, the pro kit has a little more al. but it is less forgiving. We have a couple RC8's at my track, the RTR race specs seem to hold up better, even with high power engines.

The mugen will hold up better..I have ran the rc8 buggy and mugen..the ae stuff just wears so fast and the mugen stays tight..trust me the ae car handles great but if you dont want to spend a lot of $$$$ fixing the one you pick stay with mugen...better plastics and metals...thats my .02 and again I have had both...in buggys and one the mugen truggy is a tank and takes one hell of a beating

Everything I have seen from Mugen was top-notch. They have there work cut out for them making a new version that will outperform the MBX5 and 5T.
