Hello all,
I am just getting nitro RC cars and purchased my first buggy a Kyosho 1/8 buggy with a newish 21GX motor a bit over a week ago. The motor has only had a couple ltrs of 20% through it. It was running awesome in the middle of the day and went very hard but I couldn't get it to run in the nights when the temp has dropped off which is when I will do allot of my racing against my mates.. I played with the tune trying to get it to run but now I'm having some problems, I can get it to run now but the idle has to be to high and its going to burn out clutches, should I be letting it warm up with high idle on a stand then lowering the idle before placing it on the ground? I would prefer to get it running on a good idle setting so clutches aren't worn for no reason of course. So when i start it the clutch isn't engaged at all prefferbly? At the moment I have to either have a high idle or pull the trigger to get it to start. I thought this may be rich low neddle maybe? It will start and idle for maybe 3 seconds before dieing. It does not idle up before dieing, it just dies. What glow plug should I be using? It came with a OS #8 installed and I have purchased more of these but Kyosho recommends either A5 or R5. I live in Grafton NSW which can get hot in the day and cold at night and there are no Hobby shops for atleast 100kms..Can someone please provide a base setting or some advice on how to get it running good. I have cleaned the carby, the air filter, replaced fuel lines and also installed a Hitec ultra torque steering servo and am using AT Racing 20% nitro. I have the idle gap set at about 0.7mm. | | proberly smaller then those lines. but it will not start until i make them larger then its engaging the clutch ![]() idle at about 0.7mm high end needle about 2 1/2 turns from fully seated low end needle about 0.5mm inside the hole. which is a fair few turns from the fully seated position. what should I be doing please? I will add a picture to my post in case anyone can tell me what model Kyosho Inferno it is also? thankyou! pracy |

At first glance, it's an MP6.
As for the tuning issue, you may have to richen your needle (screw it counter-clockwise) as the outside temperature drops. Just a little bit, not a lot. I would have to guess at about an 8th of a turn. The needle you will want to turn is the one where the fuel line attaches to the carb. |
