20 or 22 degree front hub carriers?
I have just broken a front carrier on my MP777WC.
I was using the 22's and have just replaced the broken one with a 20 for now. What difference (if any) would this make, and what difference would 20 and 22 make? (Racer, not a basher) Would the greater the degree increase the turning circle? Cheers Dave |

I assume we're talkin about caster here. Heartbreak is correct. More angle give you a quicker turn in but also a slower turn out. Basically, the car may feel a bit more pushy during on throttle turn exits.

Actually less caster gives you better off power steering. If you tend to drive it in deep then more caster will help with on power steering. On my Mugen buggy and truggy I run very little caster, especially indoors on smaller tighter tracks.

So the caster rules are a little different when dealing with off-road rather than on-road Frank? I made my statement based only on what I know from road type racing. I guess it doesn't equate into dirt eh?

yeah, funny you mentioned that. We were just having that discussion at the track last week. I was helping someone with their setup and the thought the same thing until they tried putting some of my set up on their truck. He said the same thing you did. Alot depends on the car too, that type of setup may not work for a losi but it works on a mugen and a k car

Thanks for the replies lads, really useful info as im slowly getting the hang of the importance of 'setup'.
So, if im running on a tight bumpy off road track, with a lot of on power turns, im better off with the 22's rather than the 20's? Many thanks Dave |
