i am pretty sure the 3.3 motor just bolts in place of the 2.5. i don't think there is any modification needed. congrats on the new ride.

Not so much motor is what I'm worried about, its the new chassis and tierods and stuff like that, that the revo 3.3 has over the revo 2.5r

The main difference in the 2.5 and the 3.3 is the extended wheel base (longer chassis). All they did was extend the chassis 1.5 inches in the front. The point of doing that is to keep it from lifting the front wheels all the time.

You can almost accomplish the same thing by using the extended wheel base rear arms. They make the truck's wheel base an inch longer.

The 3.3 is also set up to accept the center diff and rear brake with no modifications. A 3.3 chassis and tranny case and your in business!

Congrats on the new 2 you Revo!

Thanks very much for the replies, I think I'm going to buy the conversion kit on ebay to make it a 3.3. It comes with chassis and wide diff and tie rods and everything I need for 100 bucks, seems well worth it. Obi

I wouldn't give $100.00 for it. 3.3 chassis $50, the tie rods are the same as the 2.5, wide ratio gears are under $10.00, steering linkage $4.00, tranny halves around $10.00. Thats $75.00 for all new parts. You can find them cheaper than that on eBay.

After reading your reply I didnt end up getting the kit. What all would I need less the motor to convert my 2.5R to a 3.3 revo????

You would need the following

Chassis

steering linkage
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMHX0&P=Z

Tranny case

Wide ratio gears

The links are so you know what your looking for, you can find most of it cheaper on ebay. I have seen the chassis going for around $20.00. The motor mount for the 2.5 is the same as the 3.3.

Good luck with your project, the 3.3 will impress!

Almost forgot you will need a longer body, Proline just released a crowd pleazer for the 3.3

Thanks very much for everything!!! I sure do appreciate it!!! I race a Hyper 8 with a Rossi .21, but its funny how much you dont know about other vehicles!!:hehe:
