Flywheel is locked...

My buggy was running 10x as good with these new clutch springs. It was running about 235ish. I start it up and i notice bogging (low end was a bit lean, but there was smoke) and I go down the street and all the sudden I hear a click (a minor click, normal sound). and it shuts off. I go to start it again and the flywheel is locked. It wont budge. Please tell me I didnt kill my $250 engine.

You most likely snapped the conrod, what engine is it? Ive run my buggy in rocks before and had one get wedged near the flywheel, it creates the locked flywheel as well until you get it out..LOL

The only time I've heard that sound is when the con-rod snapped... I'll hope for the best for you though...

I had a friend that did that to 3 brand new OS 21 Rg's... He didn't even have a gallon through any of them.

THANK GOD everything is A-OK. It somehow just got stuck, but then I kept turning the engine over by hand with the backplate off and it got normal again. Can I shoot some WD-40 in there? would that be ok?

K thanks.... just needed to know. I was told by a couple other people to use Nitro cleaner... Electric motor cleaner is the same thing, so I used it. Also put some ARO on the piston. Hopefully I should be set.

I had an engine make a loud PING one time when it shut off. Turned out that the clutch bearings were a little loose, and the bell hit the flywheel on shut-off. You might want to check that, just to be safe. Just a slight jiggle on the bell ought to be sufficient.
