I had a Storm Pro and thought it was decent. Not sure of all the differences between the Storm RTR Plus and Storm Pro but I would say it's not a bad decision. I came across an awesome deal on an XB8, that's why I switched.

The Pro has carbon fiber and a lighter aluminum than the RTR+. I had one that was a first generation RTR (one of the first made), and that car was awesome! I loved it... It hurt to sell it, but I needed money for the Mugen that I have now.... (and haven't had a chance to really run it, argh!!!!)

The Storm RTR+ is a great buggy. Not many hopups are needed out of the box... Just hingepin braces, and that's it. The GS .21 is also a very potent little engine... Lotsa torque, easy to tune, and it has some real gusto once it's broken in.

Overall, I'd say go for it. It's well worth the money.

I agree with heartbreak, my storm was ace and the motor sounded very angry!!!!! when i was at my local club some guys turned up with a pair of prospec mbx5's and they didn't anialate me which i was supprised about!
hinge pin braces are a must tho!
only bad thing i have to say about it is that parts can be a little on the expensive side and sometimes hard to source, especially hop ups, but some time searching the net will find them,

ebay also have some good storm stuff

I'd recommend picking up a second 9.5 if you already have one and looking for a cheap car.....I might know where you can get one at a reasonable price

Hey, SHakey, do you guys in the UK call the Hyper 7 an OFNA or a HoBao (spelling?)?

UK names

Here they call it the Hobao and they're underspecced and overpriced to the Ofna range you guys get in the US (as a former US resident I speak from experience) and we pay about 30-35% more than the US guys do for the kit

mondo is right, not sure about the specs, we have a few different versions of it here in the uk, in the uk tho the hoboa hyper 7 TQ sport which is the ofna something in the US is about the same price as the gs storm, i've had both.

the prices in the uk are quite alot more than in the US, sometimes cheaper to buy there and pay shipping costs!!!!!

Shakey and Mondo, thanks. I thought the UK got the Hobao stuff. BTW, the Hyper 7 TQ Sport is called the same here, but just called the OFNA Hyper 7 TQ Sport. Some the lesser OFNA lines are pretty generic in quality, and might be like a Storm, but on the Hyper 7's and similar the options are plentiful. Besides TQ edition, we have the Jammin' and PCR editions as well. Here is alink to OFNA's U.S. distributor and shopfront, located right here in So. California:

Ofna is just a distributor here in the US. They hyper series is made by Hobao, and the jammin line is made by hong-nor.
