ready to purchase my new buggy - confused
I have the money allocated to get a new buggy - but am still confused as to which one to get. I really want a kit - but the are all so very expensive. I have about 500.00 to spend. I DO NOT need a radio since I have a Hi-tec 3D fm, so the RTR's seem like a waste to me because I would just through the radio in the closet. Is every single buggy out there RTR????? The only one I can find that is a kit, it the Kyosho - and it is EXTREMELY expensive - plus, I have not had good luck with their products in the past. help me.........
Would a one-legged duck swim in circles? . |

nitronewbie, if you mainly want to bash it, check out the Koysho Inferno 7.5 Sport.
It's a good basher with a good name. It comes assembled, includes an engine and no radio for around $500: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXANJ1&P=7 If you want to race, you will want to upgrade to the metal spur gear and some other things. The only other buggy that comes with an engine but without a radio is the HotBodies Lightning Pro. I'm thinking about getting one of these. It comes all hopped up for racing and has some hardcore aluminum parts so you can bash it plenty. At a starting price of only $350, it's pretty tasty. Then again, it's a no name. *shrug* good luck |

my LHS - whom I trust - is telling me not to go with the Kyosho. They said it is overpriced. They recommend the GS storm pro first, then the Thunder Tiger EK pro. anyone own one of these, or know someone who does? comments? reviews?

humboldtblazer can write you a book on GS Storm Pro. He loves it. Remember it comes with no engine or radio for $450. The Koysho is $500 with no engine or radio. Maybe the GS Storm comes with better parts then the base mp75, but maybe humboldt can fill you in on that.

You will not be sorry. After you get it togther and drive it for a gallon let us know what you think of the Storm Pro. Contgratulations you have moved up to in my opinion what is the top shelf of RC'ing the 1/8 buggy.

currently that is what i have, a gs storm pro with an OS-RZV01B. i have no complaints with it, it is simply an amazing combo
btw - nitronewbie if you can get the diff oils (1000, 5000, 7000) before your kit comes it would be a help, or else you will be like me ready to assemble the diffs, only to find that no oil is included. Get shock oil as well if you dont already have some. I am currently using 35 wt in the front and 30 wt in the rear. Oh and one last thing, wheels and tires arent included. So you might want to pick up a set of those. |
