Falling more in love!

I cant begin to tell you how much Im diggin this 8th scale buggy! From the angry lion attitude to the alien spaceship-like sound, this thing is a dream!

Had it out for about 8 tanks today and just couldnt get over the speed AND control. When you are at a track you always hear everyone talking about drift-and-punch on the throttle to get around turns. When I think it, this buggy does it! Planted! Hooked up my new treads and they didnt get destroyed. Knuckles. Great choice!

Temps were running low 170's and was a bat out of hell. Smoking pipe. Now Im wonderring just how far I can push this mill. O.S. RZV-01b. Anyone have any average field temps on this thing? Razor, I know you have one. Temps?

Just thought Id share the day.....

No idea really. However, I can tell you its a kickass mill. Not to mention, it just took the Championship for Degani. Its been around a while too. I dont know of anyone who has one and doesnt like it either.

LOL @ the head. Id have to be on the Orion team to get that. Besides, YUCK to the red. Id want a toxic green one.

I have to take pics of the tires. I think they are mughots. Ive been spending WAaaaaayyyyyyyy too much time looking at 2.2 tires lately and cant get it right.

Anyhow, Ill get a pic up in the morning.

I try to keep mine in the 225-230 range on 5 min heats. I may lean down just a bit to get better fuel mileage during 10 and 20 min mains, but then I try to keep it in the 240 range.

Oh yeah, Degani's engine is not your everyday v01b with an O'donnel head on it. It is tweaked by O'donnel himself for various team drivers.

Degani won the worlds with knuckles. I know a guy that swears by the mugshots though. I guess I'll have to try those as well

They are BOTH great tires.

Razor - thanks for the temps! Im going to crank on it some more today. The goal - run cool and keep the front wheels on the ground. They came up a couple times yesterday so i am getting very close to my sweet spot without touching the suspension.

Then the suspension changes will go in. I dropped the rear spacers all together and put smaller ones in front last night. This should change it enough to lean some more and still have control.

Thanks for the info! Man this mill rocks.........

Looks like an 86 pipe, but I may be wrong. Try a 53 or 63 with a 13 tooth clutchbell and some 1.1 clutch springs. You will be even more impressed with it's takeoff. You will lose a little topend though, but personally I like the torque.

Its a NovaRossi pipe - no idea the # though.

Right now Im already having to back down on take off to keep it from standing still. However, when it starts to loose some compression I will definately take your advice. When you say 63, you are talking about the center gear right? Should I get the Kyosho bell or does someone else make them where Im not paying import tarrifs?

Oh, and just a $$ savings pointer. If you ever bust a lower hinge pin for the shocks (as I have) just get the HPI Savage 3x29mm pins. They are the same thing. Just a mm or 2 longer. BUT, 4 bucks compared to 30 for a whole new hinge pin set from Kyosho.

Sorry about my last post, it was a little misleading. By 53 or 63 I was talking about tuned pipes. Either one of these gives better low end.
Look into K Factory products. I think they have a clutch setup that's reasonably priced. One of the reasons I sold my Kyosho is that Kyosho's replacement parts are too high.

Yes they are! Thats one thing Ive been a little crushed about. However, there are MANY alternatives out there.

Do you have a link to KFactory parts you are talking about?

I think Im going to stick with the Rossi pipe for now. Its treating me VERY well.

No Degani used the knuckles. At least thats what the Proline ad said in my Nitro RC mag, and thats what swayed me to buy them.

On a side note I am glad to see Yuci signed with Sirio and will be using the engine I just bought for the new season this year!
