Ya, I've heard good things about those as well as the engine, I've personally always wanted one, but parts support and price was an issue for me, o well, have fun w/ it! And, if your dad is like most dads who get rc's, then he'll hardly ever drive it, so it's basically yours! lol.

It kicks ass! Hell, I'm still getting used to mine. I remember when it looked that nice. Nothing like the sparkle of a new RC. It was my first big-block and it's still amazing. It just flies both on the ground and off. Lightning fast and will fly nice and level with just a touch of throttle input. I have lawn darted it from 10 feet and it just bounces. I have yet to break it.
Just make sure he takes the time to install the fuel filter. Then have him go over the car to make sure all the screws are tight. Also check the screws that hold the chassis braces in. Mine didn't have Loc-tite and they started to loosen. And the screws that were holding my steering servo were loose. That caused me to have assymetrical steering until I discovered it. Oh, and one last thing. Have him plug his battery into the 3rd channel slot rather than the BATT slot. Gives you more speed and power out of the servos.

Yup, I second the part about checking the screws and putting loctite. A few of mine worked themselves loose. It's a great buggy; great engine. Oh, don't be surprised if that engine runs cold even when it putting out lots of power. Kinda weired but mine goes 205 - 210 when tuned correctly.

Does this apply to all radios w/ an extra channel open? And what if it's a 2-channel sys? |

Good looking buggy!
I haven't seen those for sale in the UK (yet) but it looks like it has all the right stuff.. It seems no one can say a bad word about it either, which is a good thing ![]() Now I'll be keeping my eyes open for these in the UK |

ok I made it here and thanks for all the info and suggetions. My son started this post and got me to sign up.
There is no slot on the standard xr3i to plug in for the 6.0v since the battery plug has the small tab on it allowing you to only plug into the correct slot. Good info though. Now I have to go get a Battery so we can break the cherry on this beast. later follks and happy motoring RMill |
