Clutch/Tires questions?

Hey guys,

I got a little extra birthday cash to spend So I wanna get some things to help put down the power of my Collari B3 in the X-Term.

Clutch - I hear the stock clutch blows and it seemed ok with the 24.7 but I'm worried the Collari will destroy it. I'm just bashing but I want a decent clutch, don't want to spend for that Werks clutch though. maybe aluminum shoes...idk, jsut something that can handle a Collari.

Tires - Just looking for a long lasting bash tire, so I was thinking the Proline badlands. Any others I should look at?

All of this is going on a X-Terminator Deluxe with a Collari B3, just used for bashing. O, I already put oil in the diffs.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Ya, for tires for bashing, I'd go w/ the badlands, or the knuckles.

I've had Knuckles before and liked them, but the Badlands look like they would provide even more grip on grass ans stuff.

Ya, if it were for me, I'd get the badlands for grass and rough ground. I'd get the knuckles for smoother surfaces and a little street.

keep in mind, with the badlands, you will greatly stress the clutch. there can be such a thing as too much grip. i belive that its TRC that makes a tire called the "grip" thats made for grass racing in europe. that would be a great tire too. id still consider the badlands, just keep an eye on your clutch temps, and maybe go down 1 tooth on your bell if you plan on running in grass or mud. for clutch the racing setup is mugen aluminum shoes with 1.0 springs, it hooks up great and hits hard, but it will require some maintainance.

Best tyre for grass tracks in the UK used to be MedialPro Turbo Rats. A lot of racers have switched to HoBao Angle Spikes now. Both have similar tread patterns - large spikes.

Grass surfaces are high grip compared to clay/dirt so watch that clutch and don't be afraid to use heavier diff oils. If black teflon shoes are slipping/wearing out too quickly then try the Mugen white teflon shoes, or two teflon shoes and one aluminium shoe.

I really just want a low maintainence clutch that grips decently. Doesn't have to be a race set up, just needs to work and handle the power of the Collari.

Not trying to hi-jack your thread or anything....but I would like to know if anyone uses those shoes (the OFNA ones in AC's prev. post) w/ the MBX-4 flywheel on their savage (or on any flywheel for that matter) and how they like them.

i use those ofna shoes, and thus far im unimpressed. however my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt because i have them in a 9lb truggy, with a top 528 engine, this engines nickname is the clutchmuncher.
